Metal support bar for middle of bed frame?

OK... HELP. :P

I found this awesome headboard/footboard set in the Great Trash Room, along with the two siderails that hook into headboard/footboard. Thing is, the middle of both siderails (made of iron) have holes in them, meaning that there SHOULD be a metal support bar in the middle, obviously.

Where, if at all, could I find something like that? I have bits for drilling metal in my drill bit set, so that wouldn't be a problem, but I'm not a welder, so where could I find either a piece of metal that size OR somewhere that I could buy the metal + have it cut to size for me?

I suppose if all else fails I'll go the old route and buy sturdy wood, and use those as support beams for the bed

You can check some of the furniture stores and see if they have extras...but I suggest just going with the wood.
