In Okinawa we have these locally grown mini bananas that are sometimes referred to as monkey bananas. I mean they are small. Like almost not bigger than you middle finger. And of course we also have imported bananas from the Philipines which are quite large.
I have heard that the monkey bananas are more nutritious once per once, but am not really sure about that. I do know, though, that I like them better. I think they have a richer and slightly sweeter taste than the Philipine bananas. The monkey bananas are also a little expensive. Have you tried them? Do you eat them regularly? What do you think about them? Which of the two kinds of bananas here in Okinawa do you prefer and eat most often? I like the monkey bananas, but only recently have started eating them. What about you? |

I've had both, but I prefer the big ones. We had a banana tree in my front yard for a few years when I was a kid. The bananas weren't bad, but like I said, I've always been more fond of the big ones.
They make good toy guns too. |

Though I do spread peanut butter on bananas and eat that. @dk The large bananas are just too much for me I've decided. Like a brick sitting in my stomach. |

![]() Yeah they are big. And I only eat them every now and then. Usually my wife makes a nice healthy banana milkshake for me. Now THAT'S how you eat a banana. |

Yeah, dropping a banana into a glass cup with razor sharp knives at the bottom isn't cruel. Whatever. That banana had family.
