I usually take my Japanese futons to San A to get them cleaned. Does anyone know of any other good places to go to?

There are a couple of company's who do do professional cleaning, I think one of them was called 'Feather'. It is pretty expensive to get futon's cleaned though, I never used to get mine done much. Just used to stick them out on the balcony in the sun all day, and then beat them with a futon beater!

At San A, I usually pay 3200 yen for each 1 and it takes about 2-3wks to come back.
I don't have a balcony, but if I had one of those I would have done that long time ago. |

Some laundrymats/coin laundries have semi-DIY futon washing facitities. Basically just huge indrustrial sized washing machines and dryers. There is one near the Legion gate of Foster is anyone is interested.
Can't you just take them to be dry-cleaned at any dry-cleaner? Im sure i've seen my local dry cleaner with futons.... |

I know this is slightly off-topic, but it's the same subject matter. I didn't want to create a whole new thread just for this.
I'm looking for a used futon for cheap or loan. The inlaws are visiting next month. We only have one spare bed. Does anyone know of anywhere I can get a futon besides JU classifieds? Thanks in advance. ![]() |

You can get them very cheap sometimes though, just a couple of thousand yen. I once got a folding bed at a recycle shop in Ginowan for 2,000yen. My son still uses it. |

To be honest I haven't looked for years. But I was thinking of somewhere
like Makeman, Kanehide Plaza, San-A.... It will not be very good quality but if it is just for a few weeks, it should be okay. |
