what are they worried about, it doesn't affect anyone but flight line personnel.... people and their damn opinions

Fu&k it. I say the US packs up all its toys and goes home. Only one thing. If the shit hits the fan in this region we mind our own business and the people can fend for themselves.

Drives me bonkers. Do people really dislike gaijin and these inconveniences so much that they'd be willing to just get rid of their national defense framework? I mean, honestly. "Yeah, with the relatively small amount of JSDF guys and their samurai swords, the defense of Japan will be no problem!"

Actually that's the way it should be. The US should always mind it's own bsiness and not involve itself in other nation's wars.

It would be better IMHO if the US close most if not all bases overseas and send our troops home and ready our defenses of the homeland.

Pull out of NATO, the UN and everything else and just take care of America and American people. All the humanitarian efforts we do around the glbe could be used to help Americans in pverty. The military could protect our borders and Airports and be ready if shit hits th fan.

BUT I still have to support the bases because many of my friends have employment with DoD and I don't want them out of a job.

We wouldn't be the Superpower we are today if we just withdrew from the rest of the world. I joined the Marine Corps to shoot a lot and see the world. These days I sit behind a desk more often, but the "seeing the world" part never faded.
