Just to show that I'm not biased, according to a Mainichi poll, it appears that 70% of Okinawans want Futenma moved out of the prefecture...

I wonder how many of those Okianwans base their opion off of fears sparked by the helicopter crash and fueled by anti base types? Asked my wife what she thought of the Futenma situation and she said that the marines should be moved. When I asked why, she gave me the "scary helicopters/planes could fall out of the sky" answer.

Yeah...the masses, Japanese or not, don't really know anything more about the military than what the media feeds them. People say that majority of Okinawans don't give their media credibility, but I beg to differ...media is a powerful tool in forming mass opinion, no matter where you go.

Heck, a lot of people attend protests simply because the papers say it's going to be huge, even if nobody really knows the turnout for a protest.

But hey, that's the choice most people make. I'm not interested in converting the uninformed.

And and how many people were polled 10? And where did they live? Like right around Futenma or maybe they were living near the unversity where the helicopter crashed.

I always get a chuckle out of polls.

One can create any conclusion that they want from the data collected.
