I figured banks are probably my best bet but I'd like to see if there are other options.
I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a place I can exchange AUS $ for yen. More importantly a place that exchanges International coins as well as bills for yen. |

Banks usually on accept bills and not coins. You may want to check with one of the banks on island, Ryukyu, Okinawa or Kaiho, to see which branch can exchange AUS $.

thanks for the info you two.
![]() Yeah I made a few trips to some places that usually exchange money like post offices etc. I guess I going to have to go to a large city branch like in Okinawa city or Naha. I have some OZ money but unfortunately its all coins 1$, 2$ coins etc. Anyone who's been down there knows how full and heavy the pockets can get after a night of boozin'. I've had some extra for a while now and wanted to see if I could change it into some yennies. I'm quite the penny pincher sometimes. My wife asked me once "Why do you look down while you're walking instead of looking up or straight ahead?" I replied "Except for your pay check when you find money does it fall from the sky or do you find it on the ground?" Man I am a cheap a$$ aren't I ![]() |
