Everyone know who they are. Driving around, reving the hell out of their 25cc engine like it is a Harley or something. Well yesterday I was at a friend's apartment outside of Gate and was standing outside on the balcony smoking and thinking to myself, "Jesus Christ, this place if the damn GHETTO." When I hear the easily recognizable screaming of a moped engine. I look down and see the rider hauling major ass around a turn, but the back tire had had enough and kicked out, sending the rider over the high side and sprawling out on the ground. Instant reaction of PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH A. Which continued for the next 10 minutes as he tried to start his busted machine.
Funniest thing I've seen on this God forsaken place.:w00t:

That's just some kid on a moped. :) What would make me ecstatic is to see a group of six of them involved in a hiway 58 pile up caused by one of them darting in and out of traffic while reving their engine.
I never understood why they did that. Maybe just trying to reduce the life of piston rings.

Fake ass Bosozoku. I remember back in the day, here in Oki and in Mainland, they at least used to have some cool battle flags and streamers that they would fly while the were cruising.

There were 4-6 other mopeds continuing on the main road, this one just turned off. Guess he was going home.

While I agree that seeing a bozo wipe out is hilarious! Have you ever been to the BX or mainstreet on kadena? Now that's funny:D

Trust me, my favorite sport is gawking at how fat some of the dependents here are.
but someone wrecking their moped and then having a bunch of Americans laughing at him? Besides, you know my general distaste for all things Okinawa.

They are still here. You see them occasionally but they change where they ride...usually not in the same place each weekend.

Another funny sight is when the cops are following them down 58 asking them to stop. Or when you see a JP hiding in the bushes with his little radar gun or walkie talkie LOL.

Not sure if you're referring the the herds of dependasaurus or the wacky teenagers, but I was in there today and all I could say to my self, was thank God, these are NOT my kids and especially my wife. Damn, we got some "heavy hitters" on Kadena...I'm talking NFL offensive line material...some of which have no business in there eating...:barf::thumbdown:

Then you should try the "Rotten Egg / Bozo" method of control. Buy a couple cartons of eggs. Set them somewhere outside where they will not be broken, for at least a month. They wil turn rotten. Then, the next time the bozo's are riding around your area, get a few of your friends together and toss the rancid eggs at them. Even if only a small amount of the egg gets on the bozo's, or thier scooters, it will smell like hell in a sewer. just dont break the eggs on yourself. It's even better if the eggs hit the engine...then it smells like hot curry farts on a summers day. As far as I know, that is not illegal.....or at least the cops wont arrest you for egging them fag bozos. The cops never arrest me, and the bozos dont come around here no more.

Not sure if there is any truth to this story, but I heard that back in the day the police would use nets to catch/stop the bozo's. I also heard that it was stopped when a high ranking offical from Naha had his son (bozozoku) hurt by the police when they netted him.

Regarding the noise level on HyWay 58:
The Okinawan police are impotent to try to control the noise, hazardous driving conditions and general public disturbance caused by the relatively few inconciderate in the local population. The local politicians look the other way also as unless something impacts the economic situation they will not (or can not) control anything except what they are eating for lunch. How about a noise ordanance in residental areas? But just let my front wheel drive boot get torn and a national crisis erupts. I would like to get one of those noise decible meters that the local municipalitities use to determine how excessive the noise from MCAS Futenma is in my bedroom around midnight every night. It would shock any rational person. Probably not any of the unconcerned local politicians. Why does the local population cast a blind eye about this? Probably apathy in thier elected officials and police. This is harsh but very true!

Way out here, the bastages like to rev their engines all the frakkin time, but especially at night after bedtime. Time and time again, I hear the drifters racing donuts or whatever lame thing they do to make noise behind my apartment. The noise carries across the river inlet. I sometimes wish I had a high-powered paintball rifle with scope and stuff to shoot their vehicles. The cops who are sometimes, albeit rarely, out here are no match in their little keystone kops kar against a fancy Skyline GTR or whatever. Impotent... instead, the cops use their fancy undercover sports cars to catch Americans on cellphones at a stop light.

I think you should video her in action. I would love to see that.
No, do not put this post under out-of-context quotes thread...

I have a Honda CBR 600 and ride with most of the other Americans on island. We meet every thursday somewhere, and once a month its at the mihama starbucks.
One night, the jerk-offs were riding by doing there usual noise pollution and riding wheelies. On the second go around, (i guess he was trying to show off) a guy on a scooter busted while riding a wheelie. Then him and his boys got caught at the light so we hounded the shit out of them. It was the highlight of my time here on okinawa.... he deserved it. I just wish one of his boys would have wrecked on his bike!!!

i've owned a bunch of motorcycles all my life and they all made more noise then any moped i have ridden..even my friends 80 mph moped....
i've ridden one of those 80 mph mopeds and they were scary.....all power and no handleing....but they do kick ass..the noise is like a mosquito...but try riding one....your opinion of the little beasts will change....and the sound ...well its a matter of opinion....i guess.....:)

Most of the time the different throtle reving combinations are codes or means of communicating with others that are in the know (such as cops are comming, alls clear or just invitation for others to come out and play). I agree its bothersom but shit they are just young teenagers for the most part ,hell let them play. Most of us have done worse as a teen and most of us still have our fun in our own ways. To each his own vice.
Peace

Thanks for your approval. I've been dying to throw a trance party at a public park at 2am. Heck, maybe I'll throw a taxi-wash trance party too. I promise to make sure there are plenty of houses around to enjoy the music.

We used to ride around and hit the boso's with Hot Shots. If you can't get a Hot Shot then go to the back-up plan. A good slingshot with ice cubes. Hurts like hell and the evidence melts... :thumbup1:
