I've seen a few of these "trip to Tokyo" post around, found it interesting to see everyone's experiences with that crazy place. Now I would like to post my own experience and share it for anyone who cares or are just bored.... here I go...
First off, It was never my intention to visit Tokyo so soon. For one, I'm broke from the year 2008 which included a trip to Korea, Phillippines, and back home to Seattle. Also, It's freaking winter!! I hate the cold....
But this trip was brought up by one of my good friend that's stationed in Korea. He and I have talked about going to Tokyo for quite some time, and it seemed he picked this time to do it. So after some thoughts, I decided to go through with it. I needed a vacation anyway. Seeing how I could save money by catching a hop to Tokyo, I jumped at the chance and ran with it.
So, here is a little summary of my trip:
Thursday: Arrived In Tokyo. Went out for drinks and dinner. Total money spent: 10000 Yen. Drunk Level: 7/10
Friday: Attended Base Holiday party (not by choice) Then off to Shibuya :D
Total money spent: 20000 Yen. Drunk Level: 8/10
Saturday: Slept in until 6PM. Then off to the infamous Roppongi :w00t:
Total money spent: 20000 Yen. Drunk Level: 8/10
Sunday: Recovering from hangover.... went out drinking later on....
Total money spent: 5000 Yen. Drunk Level: 5/10
Monday-Wednesday: Recovering....bx...food.... total money spent: 150dollars
Thursday: Last night in Tokyo, so where else better to go than Roppongi?? Stayed the night @ The New Sanno (Not as great as I thought)
Total money spent: 40000 Yen..... Drunk Level 10/10 :dead:
Friday: Need to catch train back to Yokota, need to check in by noon... approx time that I stopped drinking....5 AM.... passed out for 3 hours....
Woke up with the worst hangover EVER..... Drunk Level 8.5/10 :barf:
So yeah.... there you go... my trip to Tokyo. No, I did not go sight seeing like i wanted to. I basicly got drunk my whole trip there... was it a waste?? Nah... it was a great time....
So what did I learn from my experience??
Tokyo girls are ALOT better looking than the ones in Okinawa...
EVERYTHING is expensive
Nigerians can't tell if I'm a local or American (added bonus)
I need to learn Japanese
Never open up a tab in a bar that cost 3000 yen to get in
Train stations are a great place to pick up girls
Don't follow the massage lady upstairs when you're drunk.... :argh14:
Mixing Gin, Sake, Beer, Vodka, Whiskey, Tequila, in one night is not a good idea....:barf:
Overall fun level: 8/10
