I used to know it, but cannot remember it, nor can i find it on google.
I believe it was absinthe, lemon juice (I think sweetened suntory brand lemon juice), and 7-up. It seems like something is missing...
It has been a long time since I have had one, and I have Absinthe here in the USA.

I started a thread on this subject a long while back.....I remember that there was also included in the mix a liqueur (maybe Suntory brand) called "VIOLET", which gave it that purple color. But yeah, that liqueur, 7-up, gin, Suntory D'Absinthe, and lemon juice sounds about right.

I am 100% sure the name of the liqueur is Hermes ABSINTHE, not D' Absinthe, but that is splitting hairs. I used to make the purple haze in my bar, Paradox, but i have since forgotten the recipe and cannot find my long list of recipies. I had over 100 shooters, and hundreds of cocktails, along with one of the best alcohol selections on Okinawa for bars catering to GI's.

My friend Mike (from Mike's Place in Kitamae), RIP Mike, had an incredible selection of alcohols.
By the way, the Absinthe in Okinawa was made from the substance Wormwood, which was/is illegal in the USA, but it was not illegal in Japan, much like Codeine and Effedrine weren't illegal in Japan (Look at substances like Bron and Effedrine sold in drug stores over the counter).
I picked up Absinthe in the USA, Lucid brand, but it is synthetic, so the "effects" are not supposed to be the same.
I just wanted to have a purple haze for old times sake.

Yeah, come to think of it you're right. I smuggled a couple bottles back to the states in the mid-80's and my friends were blown away by it. I just can't believe that there's no way to buy it in the U.S. Seems like there's always a way.......I've gone online (and Ebay too) and there appears to be a handful of producers, mostly from Europe.

Yeah I bought some, Lucid brand, it was $70 a bottle for 700 or 750ml. But it is synthetic like all absinthe sold LEGALLY in the USA.

Paradox, eh? Was that near Koza? My memory is horrible, but it sounds familiar... Was it open in early '90s??

Someone mail me a couple bottles!
