Wow. That's rare. Are her friends amejos? lol. I don't think I've ever heard of a Japanese person who preferred gate 2 street over Naha/Mihama/Etc.

Admittedly, my friends and I went to Gate 2 street at least twice a month. We know a couple of the bar owners personally (as in, they've been to my house and met mother) and would just hang out in the back of the bar/club with the staff. The music was decent enough. We still go once in a great while, but it's not the same. I think we're getting old.

These days, if we have a weekend off and money, we go to dinner and/or karaoke with friends. Otherwise, we either stay home or go to a friend's house to hang out. Yeah, we're getting old... heh.

I like going out to Gate 2 for two reasons.....

- I also hang out with some of the bar owners

.....I'm sad though because I spend a lot of time on the weekends on the beaches and usually me and my friends have fun handing out awards (Pimp of the day, Village Idiot, etc) for the day when we're bored. However, where I go most of the Americans who come out and get drunk there don't come as much any more. :(

Well, if you ever want to hang out in Urasoe and hit up a bar or izakaya, hit me up. I usually get bored about 11:30pm on Fridays after the wife and kid goes to bed. This is an open invitation for anyone on Fridays. That's about the only day I ever go out, and I hate taking taxis far away only to drink by myself, so I usually just try to go to one of the closer places.

I spend my weekends scuba diving or junkyard rumaging. extra money to be made for whatever I wanna do on the longer weekends. I live right down from G2 and I don't even go there only except for a few times when I first got to the island and I didn't know anyone.

The last time I went to G2 was 2 months before I deployed and I checked out The Jet, small but great live music. Classic rock kept me happy and they played almost every song requested. I used to meet my friends at Ocean View which was alright being on the end away from the crowds somewhat. But when I get back I doubt I'll go out there again for awhile. I can drink at home, play the music I like, invite the people I want, and not have any problems. Or just go to the friends house and do whatever there also.

Hmm, I did a bit of motorcycling in between the rains, mostly at night. Drove to Hedo with the family and did a little geocaching along the way.
