For everyday driving, I'd buy a nissan, honda, or toyota. However, I'd still love to own a corvette:thumbup:. The only other american car I would probably own would be a caddy CTS but thats a little out of my price range.

Easily the new Camaro. The SS 6 speed manual has 420 horsepower and I think it got over 25mpg. The mustang has 100 horsepower less than the Camaro. The Challenger looks good and has decent horsepower but weighs WAY too much and is kinda slow because of it. It runs 14's in the 1/4 which is pretty slow. I still have a soft spot for the Skyline and STI though...

I can buy American here...but wouldn't because it just doesn't make good sense driving a nice American model here on these roads...or any new car for that matter.

But there are a couple of models that I like, mainly trucks and vans though...the cars are lacking too much. There are also quite a few Japanese models that I like though, but as I said, a new car isn't worth it IMO.

The new camaros are pretty bad ass but their almost a little too modern looking for me. While the challenger is a nice but I think they tried to go too retro on that one. The mustangs are a good example of the perfect blend of modern and retro at the same time IMO. I would still take the camaro over the other two. I've still got a small soft spot for chevys because my first car was a chevy.

Oh but one day I will own that corvette I've been dreaming about my entire life. Until then I'll just have to settle for my RAV4:D.

there was a guy on this island, who must have dreamed of a vette. and he got one. a silver one. C5. and all must have been excellent for him until he dropped revs on me on the toll road near exit 5. he is probably having nightmares of nissans now.

What makes a car American these days? Less than half the parts on some of the cars GM, Ford and Chrysler makes are manufactured in the US. Some of the big three's engines are manufactured in China. The Fusion is assembled in Mexico, The 300C, Canada(but its V8 engine is made in Mexico) Now take the Camry, Sienna, and Tundra that are sold in the US, the majority of these cars are manufactured in America, around 80%. More than half of Toyota's cars that are sold in America are made there. So to me, Toyota's are more of an American car company and its cars are more American made than the little Three. So next time you think you're actually driving an "American" car, take a look to see where its engine, transmission were made and where it was mostly assembled. Chances are you'll find that its not exactly an American made vehicle.

F-450 is plenty enough to pull 2 cars on a trailor. That's what I'll be buying back in the states for my focus and 180sx after it's exported.

I meant the F-450 though. You don't need a F750 for it. I've seen it personally, and helped load one before. 2 x 2800lbs cars, a trailor, and a good tune will do it.

6.0L PowerStroke pleaaaaaaaaaase.

It would be hard to buy a new Japanese car. I never have......only American cars. I saw a dealer in my area selling some of their new 350Z's on sale for $22,000! Now that's damn tempting!......especially when finding a reasonably-priced rear-drive American performance car is damn hard. And the 350Z comes with 306 HP, does 13's in the quarter, and can handle some huge ass tire/wheel combos. I also have a thing for the G35's as well. The only downside is that they're not exactly rare.......I probably see fifty 350Z's and G35's per day.

I saw a challenger up close the other day........OMG they're huge! Camaro?......aaahh, I'm not really a camaro freak. Mustang?......maybe, but I doubt it. I was also considering a used CTS-V!!.....those are bad ass!!....vette drivetrain and 6 speed in a caddy! To tell the truth, almost nothing "does it" for me......I'm too picky.

Here's another vehicle that I've kinda got my eye on lately.......they're not too cheap, though, but check out the specs. (this vehicle has had a few mods)

We bought a Brand new Rav4 when we arrived last year, and we love it.:thumbup1:

As for what some of the other guys posted, yeah the new Camaro is nice, and so are the Mustangs, as well as the Challenger. But I don't think that we'll ever buy another "American" car again.

I know of at least 15 vettes on island all different years and models...so I guess many people have had dreams of vettes.

i would buy american to support american workers...

You seriously need to wake up, dude. There are no American workers. They sit at home with their big screen tv's, pop into the office every once in a while to dictate, and then leave for their appointments.

Then, they place the blame of their failures on foreign workers. They don't understand English instructions. And then the management team gives a raise to the supervisor of the person who was just fired.

Now that is progress.

I bought a slightly used 2007 Rav4 2.4 four banger. Sure it doesn't have the power of the V6 but it gets pretty decent gas mileage. And for a small SUV it sure does have a lot of room. Plenty for just my wife and I and we'll have room to haul her families stuff when they decide to visit. I wanted either a CR-V, Element, or a RAV4 when I was looking for cars back in October. I saw a few nice CR-Vs and Elements but they were more expensive (one dealer had a Element with over 100,000 miles on it going for over 10k:scared:) and I liked the way the new RAV4s looked compared to the CR-V.

Yet stock for stock, that Vette will blow your doors off. Plenty of Nissan drivers were pretty surprised when the old fooker on the four door Toyota lit the tires up and blew their doors off too. Slightly lowered on Cuscos, hidden FMIC, boost controller, ECU, etc.

And a 14 second quarter is considered slow by some of you eh? That's what a stock R32/33 does. US cars, only the Vette does it with the exception of a few Mustangs, and the new Camero....which by the way has almost the exact numbers that a SB 69 Camero had.

14's stock impress me, and I have spend a lot of time wrenching on drag cars which ran in the 8's and 9's.

I haven't seen anything built in America that exited me in the style or performance area. If I had 50K to blow on a car, it wouldn't be a Vette, or a Mustang. I'd settle for a 70 Challenger or a 71 Cuda. Your milage may vary.
