so what was it....am not talking about some wedding dinner or special event type meal...

am talking about ....the pure, most best tasting food you have ever had.......

mines was at 3660 on the rise in kaimuki, hawaii on oahu...the porkchop with plumb sauce.....with house bread and rice...

the pork chop was on the bone...the bones were slightly blackend...it conveyed the transfer of heat from bone to meat....it had a semi sweet sauce...was light yellow in color...was tender but tough like all the best chops...slighthly browned in the obscure places, had a chewy, yet soft texture.. was cut thick and yet tasted thin....smelled like a light semi sweet pork dish...and milslead you in to thinking that the dish was light in taste...but was really as heavy as any other pork dish... and it was the best thing i have ever eaten...............:)

I've had some very good meals but I have yet to have something worthy of putting that title on it. There's just too many gastronomic experiences that are so amazing at different times.

I guess if I had to choose then maybe the Batten Teishoku at Batten in Mihama. It's an experience involving all senses - sight, smell, feel (texture), um what's the other one sound.........sound's good right? It's close to orgasmic as should any gastronamic experience of this magnitude be - an almost perfect mix of Sashimi, Tempura, Miso Shiru, fish, Veggies, Shiquasa and Chawanmushi.

Probably one of the many steaks my dad makes, simply delicious! Oh and I've had some really really good agu pork katsu in okinawa that was to die for. Right before I left I ate at a soba place down in the shuri area that had some of the best noodles I've ever tasted:thumbup:

The place is called Batten. The meal is called Batten Teishoku (Teishoku meaning meal or set meal I believe) and it has Shiquasa (kinda like mini Okinawan limes) w/ it. Everything is very fresh, and even though ¥1,600 is a little pricey for lunch, I have trouble ordering anything else there.
