I still wish they had a checkers here :( those were always my foavorite. Not a fan of the hand made type of burgers. Although Bikkuri Donkey びっくりドンキー makes some good hamburger steak :)
Yeah, bikuri donkey's not bad for hamburger steak, but I have no idea where to go for a real good burger. Tony Roma's maybe? That one's not bad. If you don't mind spending like $13+ for a burger lol.

I am going to have to agree with the wendy's thing!!!
If it still exists the Kadena Drive in Rest. used to have handmade square hamburgers on a square bun, they pretty good too.
There were a bunch of places on or just off Kokusai St but closed, biggest reason $$$, food was great in one place but still way too $$$$, I'll probably be hitting Wendy's for lunch today!:D

something about this statement really scares me.
all i can say is you guys are totally missing out if you don't try SEA SIDE burgers. they have an avocado burger that is ridiculous

'SEA SIDE' burgers are pretty good, although I liked 'BURGERS' which was there before them, man I really miss that place.
I think 'SEA SIDE' burgers is way too expensive though which is why I don't go much, 800 and something yen for a burger.
Go to 'My House' and get a Jumbo burger!

yeah, its a little high, but once in awhile i crave a real burger
Well took the family to Wendy's for lunch today, not bad but I think my homemade, by hand:thumbup:, burgers are still better.
Well at least at home I can enjoy a malted beverage with it and not have to worry about driving afterwards.
I do like the chilli and cheese fries though.

My husband makes pretty good hamburgers on the grill. He's made them on the indoor grill before, but they're not as good. I made them in a frying pan before, which were pretty good, but not as good as grilled. Yum!

I think 50's burgers across from the new Koza Music Town is the best place on Island. Sea Side Jet City Burgers is also good, but like everyone else has said, it is overpriced! Wendy's probably has the best mass produced burgers. Nothing beats homemade.

I think honestsly since "Burgers" Not sure if that is what they are calling Jet city burgers now, use to be the best but since then the A&W at the foster bowling alley has had the beswt burger I have eaten in a long while.

When they first opened I would agree with you M. The quality is just not what it was, at least to me. They are not bad, but definitley not the same. I haven't tried JetCity for the burgers, just got a banana shake after eating at the curry shop to the left, if you like curry, try out Steve's joint. Totemo oishii desu!!! :thumbup1:

sorry I'm new here and just went back to start at page 1. wendy's has the chili and rice I read. haven't found a good burger downtown. so called home made ones in the cafes are japanese style. mix ground beef and tofu or something. ugh. tony romas are good but cost to much. McD okay if you can't get to BK.

OK guys I have read all your answers and I have to agree with a couple of you. I think as far as burgers go Sea Side Jet City has a great little biz going. It's hard to try and compare a real hand packed to the pressed, processed cardboard like substance served now in our various fast food places. If anybody gets the chance ask the two cats that own/run it, they have a pretty good reason for doing what they do and where they are. Thank you all for taking the time and answering. :)

Hey, they have the Microwaveable White Castle burgers in the frozen food section in most supermarkets here in the USA. Perhaps you should put in a suggestion at the commissary to get those over there.
Microwave them right and they taste almost as good as fresh White castle burger.

18 or 19 years on Okinawa and I don't think I've EVER eaten at Moss Burger. The name has always been too much of a turnoff for me. Moss... Burger...

Well they must have improved significantly since I was there. Anyway with all the great native food there why is anybody eating burgers? I got quite addicted to soki soba myself, wish I could get it here.
Soki Soba gets old after a while. I miss good ol' American food lol.

Are the "Sam's" restaurants still there? Anchor Inn, By-The-Sea and all that? I think there were 3 or 4, very good food. I used to love eating in the little coffee shops in Naha too, all kinds of good stuff.

You know where araha beach is? its on the sidewalk...more-or-less, pretty much, walk down the beach, once you get to the canal turn around and walk back south about 150yards or so, and it will be on your left at that time. There is a sting of little shack restraunts right there. Ive hit up the curry place and the burger joint, im gonna try the other places here soon...

SeaSide Drive-in is fairly easy to find... Head north on 58, pass the Renaissance (I can't spell) Hotel. After the hotel, you will be on a curve with the ocean directly in view on your left. At the next signal, take a left and it will take you through the village. Sea Side is on the left just before you get back to 58. Really nice little 24 hour place, sort of set up like a Route 66 type of place. Lots of diecast toy cars on display and a Honda motorcycle. The aquariums are also popular with the kids.
