Entertaining to take, and was pretty on the spot for me.
"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.
I happen to be from Charleston, so yeah it's pretty cool.

Dead on
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Northeast
Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

Not too bad. Born in northern VA and lived there until I was 9, then moved to OBX, NC and then to the Raleigh area. Any further west than Raleigh and I might have a bit stronger southern accent though.

Haha.. spot on, although I dropped the usage of the word "pop" many years ago. :)
Your Result: The Inland North
You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

A bit off seeing as I am from Wisconsin, but it probably comes from my Mom who was always beating my brothers and sisters over the head to ennunciate our words.
Looking back at it today thanks to Mom and her harping I had two siblings that worked as announcers on TV and radio.

Midland for me too. I'm from California, so I guess that works. I love to tease people from England who I meet and tell them to speak English correctly. A lot of people used to always guess I was from CA.......maybe too many "you know?...."s popping up in conversations.
Is it a California thing, or do people from all over say this 500 times a day.........."Know what I'm sayin'?..........know what I'm sayin'?..........know what I'm sayin'?..........know what I'm sayin'.........holy screamin' eagle shit, martha.

Not a very in depth quiz.. :)
The West
Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

Actually lived near Chicago, IL. Perhaps influenced by some nefarious people that I've met in the military.:scratchchin:

Yes I do call a pepsi a pop. But since I've been in the military I don't call it "pop" as often. I am from the NWI which might as well be a part of Chicago and I spent much of my life running around the south side/suburbs.

Your Result: Philadelphia
Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard.
Well, that was pretty much spot on!

Was not sure...guess I am caught in the middle...Only lived 3 years in Maryland, then the rest of my life in FL...except when we are here...that would be 4 years now. I guess my Southern drawl isn't as bad as I thought.
