Which would you buy?

Talking about MP3 players. My choices are listed below and I left IPOD off intentionally because I do not want to deal with transferring my existing files over to iTunes. These are all only 1GB players because it is intended to be a gift for my son (tween). I don't want to get him anything too expensive because it could possibly be lost or stolen within a few weeks.

Like I said, all are 1GB. I know some of the links are for bigger ones, but they are basically the same model.

But don't you have to convert your files in order to load them on the iPOD? Sony does the same thing and it was a pain in the butt!

Well, Itunes does all the conversion. You basically just put your cd in your computer and tell itunes to import the cd. That's all.

When I looked them up a couple months ago, I found the ZEN 60GB to be the top competitor.
Good price (can find on sale for WELL under the reg price both in stores and online)

The (late) CNET techie James Kim was actually who spoke about it that made me consider looking into it.

I have this hubby that refuses to get an iPod for the principle of the matter that EVERYone has one or thinks they HAVE to have one. So he wants something different. :)

But then again I go against the Chuck the Iceman Lidell on nearly the same principle! LOL
I just think the man is tooooooo OVERLY cocky and sure of himself. Drives me nuts every time I see him.

Another nice thing with the ZEN, is it works with just about any format.

Some peoples are definitely weirder than others.

Have a friend who can make out with people....various strangers at that, yet is a germ-a-phobe and can't eat something if another person touches it.

I am planning to buy the Creative Labs Zen...soon...hopefully :) Probably going to go with the 30GB one seeing as my music collection has grown quite a bit through the years. Need something I can listen to for hours and hours and not play the same song twice.
