I just dont understand why on earth people do this. Dont get me wrong, I love the Madden series, but it is a game. Is a game really worth wasting a night camping outside of a store, waiting in line through rain, snow, or whatever? Our society gets in their car and drives 1/2 mile to a mini-mart but yet stands for 1-12 hours in a line waiting for a movie, game or concert.
I know it is just me venting, and nothing I say or do is going to change the fact that it happens, but damn.
I'm with you man! I don't like lines for anything, ever.

Yeah really! There isn't a concert, movie or new item such as a game or game system that would have me waiting in line for hours. Cracked me up when we have had any of the Stars Wars movies come here and the people lined all around the theater building waiting for tickets. Those that are obsessed with being able to tell others how they were at the first showing. Whooptydo

HEY! I resemble that comment. :D I actually only did it for Star Wars Episode I. I didn't actually camp out. My friend was first in line for tickets and seating. HE camped out with a tent and everything. The rest of us gave him money to buy tickets and were there for support up to opening night. We didn't go as far as to dress up though. On opening night, we all showed up a couple hours before the show as the first group in line to go in. The other big thing for us is that it was showing on the largest screen, second only to IMAX, on the west coast. It was an event.

I probably wouldn't do it for anything else though... It'll depend. :p
And socalheart loses 2 cool points. :p

Socal, I am glad you have made your first big step in getting help. :D
Hey, to each his or her own. I look at it as it is the same movie opening night as it is any other. I do have to say some movies are best on the big screen. Oh....forgot will also refer you to the video clip thread. I added one that has to do with Star Wars. :thumbup1:

Not to mention people who drive around parking lots (a la JUSCO) for 30 minutes looking for a parking spot as close to the entrance as possible. Could have finished their shopping and been on their way in that same 30 minutes. Well, maybe not...but you get the drift.
Besides, exercise is good for you..........
Peace,
