Hey welcome to the forums!

My only advice is to get out and see the island. Don't be one of those people who complain they hate this place but never do anything but go to the airman's club. See as much as you can while your here!

So where in Naha are the pretty ladies? AND, where are they that the ratio of men to women isnt 25:1? lol...part of being in a military area i guess.

If a club in naha has a ladies night on a weeknight then you will probably find a lot of girls. Most military people have a cerfew during the week and thus, not as many of them are at the club.

Hinotama Hall down in Naha is generally 1:1 ratio or close. I'm sure most clubs are that way. Understandably, most Okinawan girls don't want to hang out at the main military hangouts (gate 2, etc), so it makes sense that you'll end up with a 25:1 ratio in those places. You just have to go where it's not rowdy and where the drinks, music, and atmosphere is good. In other words, at least a Y1200 one-way taxi ride away from the bases. :p

I would be more then willing to pay that to meet some nice people. Unfortunately I dont know how to speak japanese, but a nice atmorsphere where you can enjoy some drinks, not too loud music and just BS would be great. During the week sounds like a good plan, didnt think about that.

Brett. Welcome to the forums! You will have a good time on Okinawa, You will have a good time on Okinawa, You will have a good time on Okinawa. Keep telling yourself that & get out & see some stuff. I was on the island for only 3 months, but had the greatest experiences. I spent a lot of time at American Village. A short drive, or cab ride down Rt. 58 will put you at Mihamma's American Village. That's a great place to grab a big bowl of soba, watch live dance & music performances, see the island atop a huge ferris wheel, walk along the sea wall, have a few brews, etc... Just about anybody on this forum can point you towards some fun.
