Saw that great cartoon again last night for the umpteenth time.....
Made me think of how nice it was back in the day.
Every season had the Charlie Brown specials on and you waited the whole year to see them. That fantastic ABC "special" commercial ( the one with the spinning multi-colored word 'special') came on and you were excited because you knew some great cartoon was about to come next.
I still think the Christmas specials were the best.
That's why there's more hatred in the world: they don't play Charlie Brown Specials any more :smile4:
from the Great Pumpkin:
"Linus: I've learned there are three things you don't discuss with people: religion, politics and the Great Pumpkin"

yuppers, definitely love this cartoon. i saw it at the px and snapped it up quick. the dvd even has some interesting extras. i learned that charles schultz didn't even have a contract with the studios for any of his charlie brown specials. he just made them, and pitched them to the head honchos.

Snoopy as the Easter Beagle with Woodstock as his, uhm... Well, it's cute nonetheless. Linus all serious about telling the story of The Great Pumpkin is always fun. That sad, pitiful Christmas Tree is usually a good sniffley moment.
I haven't seen any commercials for the Charlie Brown specials though. If you have a schedule, feel free to share it. :D

Snoopy is the schiznit. I grew up loving him and the whole Peanuts gang. I need to buy the DVDs though.

I have all the Peanuts movies on DVD. It's a tradition that we watch it on Halloween.

I never liked them. I've seen all of them, I believe, and I always thought they were depressing.

:crying: That's kinda depressing in itself. I always thought they expressed hope and faith in your friends and family that ended in the usual singing and dancing about. :) I suppose that's what they mean by a generation gap sometimes.

Original Vacation. I liked that one.
"I can French kiss."
"So, everyone does that."
"Yeah, but Daddy says I am the best."

They have the 25 days of Christmas on ABC Family....granted it starts a day later, but at least you can still watch the classics over here....Now ABC Family has the 13 Nights of Halloween...cute shows, and movies.
