Oh well, I left my career in the Philippines as an Operations Supervisor of an outsourcing company(call center) to come here and be with my husband almost 2 months ago and I dont know which job will I have or if I will ever get one. It's just frustrating when you have to process lots of papers just to get a job specialy when youre neither an American nor a Japanese and job applications online makes you feel that youre waiting for nothing. Is there any Filipina or anyone who shares the same fate and can give me tips on getting a job here? thanks and God speed.

MCCS baby. Lots of very talented and educated spouses work for them and are in the same position you are.

If I were married to a Philippina, I would already be living in Palawan. :) No one would be working.

Yeah that's funny. Personally I think one of the higher ups in that mafia is that one gal who works at the kadena USO. Man that lady never smiles. Actually I think she gives me dirty looks. I still smile every time I see her trying to do that "kill them with kindness" sort of thing but she is hardcore.

If I may, I would like to encourage you here for a moment. It IS rough, but you now have to perservere. As a civilian (veteran) here, it can be rough to no end. But you must use what you have, such as your access as a spouse, providing you have SOFA status. Continue to tighten up on that resume! Sell your skills! What can you do? And...what else are you learning? Do you know Japanese? Pick up some books! And DON'T QUIT or give up, whatever you do! It took me 2 years, and busting my stump, but I did it, and so can you! Show 'em what Pinay Power is all about! If you need any help, PM me! Glad to help out any fellow Leatherneck...or their famlies! Good luck!

A few years back there was a big prostitution ring busted at the Misawa bowling alley. The wive's mafia ran it...very successful too. Operations have transferred to Kadena and other base bowling centers near you. How many holes in a bowling ball?

How do you run a prostitution ring in a bowling alley anyway? I see how a massage parlor can serve as a front for that but how would one obtain service as a bowling alley? Does a guy walk in, find a pretty girl and say, " I brought my pair of ten pound blue balls. Can we start bowling now?"

Yeah, best of luck!!!!:thumbup1:

You leave the interview, you feel great, and the next day, you'll find an e-mail thanking you for the interview. But they have hired someone else. Usually a dependent kid, who has no clue about what he/she is trying to sell.

If you do get hired, you'll be expected to grease the palms of the people who hired you, if you don't you'll loose your job quickly.

That's how it works over here.

Why limit yourself to just work on-base. You could get a job on BC street.

When you loose your job, does that mean the grease that you were supposed to put on the palms of the people gets all over the job, itself; and then the job just sorta' slips and slides away???
