Ok, We are moving off island at the end of the month and I have two questions I have not been able to get answers for-

1. Is there a food bank, on base or off, that will take canned goods and unopened boxes of food? I hate to just throw things away, if someone can use it, I will gladly donate.

B. Where are these dumps or trash yards that I hear about? The housing company has been of no assistance in trying to get rid of things- IE old BBQ, carpets too stinky to PCS with, for example. I will gladly haul it where ever it needs to go, I just need a direction to head for.

End of incessant whine for the day.
Thanks.

Nav...there is a dump near Kurashiki Dam, near the Botanical Gardens. Drive on the scale, they weigh your car....go unload, then back on the scale again. You pay according to the weight of whatever you dropped off.

Food items? Put a free ad in JU or one on Yahoo freecycle group. Someone will take it.

Do you live on or off base? If you live on base, take the stuff over to the bulk trash drop off. I only know of the one on O'Donnell Gardens and Camp Shields. Not sure of off base, except for the one over by Kurashiki Dam. Good luck.
