S15 hands down. Easy to fix, fast, and mods are a breeze...If you could have any car what would it be and what would you do to make it look nice??
Anything cooler than my little family minivanish thing I drive right now lol. My wife promised me I could pick the next car. lmao. I can't even remember what kind of car I drive, but it's pretty uncool.

I agree with roxy, S15 silvia. Just a sexy car that I would look nice in. I like coupes but the skyline is too big for me. The S15 is just the right size, sexy curves, and has one mean as 4 banger in it.

True, it is pretty interesting to see a guy in a skirt though. I'm not like that though, I've worn a dress maybe three times in my life, two of which were funerals and one for prom. LOL. I'd rather be in a jumpsuit looking under my car or out at the bullring waiting for my turn to run. <3

I love the S15 but my dream car is still a corvette. If I was rich I would have a huge car collection and a lot of them would be corvettes. Here is a list of some of my favorite vettes:
late C1 convertible with the dual headlights
63 with the split rear window
68 427 Sting Ray
any sting ray from 68 till 72
ZR-1 Preferably around a 94.
Any Lingenfelter
All of the C5s especially the Z06
The brand new vette with 438hp and the Z51 package
2007 Z06, 505hp baby!
The new vette above the Z06 with over 600hp! Rumored to be called a sting ray.
God I love corvettes!

I don't know...american muscle is hard for me. I like it but I've not been around it very much. My papaw, he rebuilds hot rods, mainly trucks so it's always fun during the summers to go out there and help him tinker with stuff and then we take them to Piegon Forge and cruise main street with them. I've been learning how to paint, so hopefully by November my car will look nice.
He used to own a 69' Sting Ray until my mother at 17 wrecked it up pretty badly. I've seen pics of it...GORGEOUS car! He now owns a 06' model....not as nice as the 69' but it's a fast car.

Favorite cars? hmmm
1. 63 split window vette

4. 69 Ford Shelby Cobra
5. The Monkee Mobile
6. 1969 Camaro Z-28 with the 302 engine
7. The Munster mobile
Out of the cars on the list, I really liked the 68 Firebird the best. It gave me the opportunity to meet a lot of nice policemen in my younger days. Not saying you do, but if that were what you really wanted then that is when you take the time and mula to really make it stand out from the rest by giving it a unique paint job, body work, rims, so on. Customize your mustang to you and set it apart from the rest!

To me, this is the best looking car I've seen. It is my opinion and I dont know why, but I think it looks better then a Ferrari or Porsche. The car as shown only costs just over $47, so sure, I could find a used vette for that, but why, when I want this car? Im a pretty dedicated Honduh guy, but would really like to get my cherry popped with a rotary, I really like the new vette (about the only one that Chevy has produced that was worth a shit, IMO), I wouldnt mind having another old Nova with a 350 or a 396, I would like to have a chevelle/malibu SS with a 396....and I also wouldnt mind having a new Dodge with a nice cummins under the hood.

1970 Chevy Chevelle SS - 454 V8 with all matching numbers.
If I found one with the small 350 I would pull that only to transplant in a GM 572 crate motor.
My other car is an '05 Neon SRT4, yeah so it's a Neon. But at it's current rate of money I've saved here and spent on parts and whatever, when I get back to the states I'll have a little 500 hp inline-4. Not bad for the price either, $20K for a fast little four door compared on todays market I got more bang for the buck compared to the fwd car market.
My last choice would be '98 Supra RZ twin-turbo. I would rebuild that engine so fast and have it running 600 easily within a weekend, given the money and of course I would have the will to do it that fast (few beers/smokes).

newvalor
08-27-2007, 11:47 AM
I would go with the Ecotec over the Honda VTEC engine. I used to own a sunfire that put down 437 hp and 411 tq, when built right. I've seen too many hondump owners drop so much money on a turbo for the vtec engine that its just like going to walmart and asking if they sell gum.
Vtec is good for an all motor application but they aren't set up right for boosted applications, not only that but they have rediculous #'s for torque output(really low). The newer 2.0 Ecotec engines are currently being used on alot of drag racing vehicles from Gm in the sport compact scene and believe it or not have set records left and right for faster e.t.'s and speeds compared to the honda engines they are desimating them with astounding numbers.
And to throw in almost every guy that owns a honda that i've rode with, as soon as they floor it they wait til vtec kicks in and they have to ask "did you feel it", what? "vtec kicked in". I'm sorry but my car back in the states stock would just blow the doors of any all motor honda. they're just like mustangs, everybody has to own one.
I forgot to add in my post but I'd love a new Dodge with my friends twin turbo cummins deisel kit he built at his shop. the thing would run 10's all day long and still haul a couple dirtbikes in the back.

Actually if those people are asking if you felt VTEC come on, tell them their tuning is way out of wack. You should not feel any VTEC kick whatsoever, that just means they have a huge drop in power and then the high cam comes on. It should have a completely linear feeling. Ignorance is as ignorance does.

It all depends on what you want personally.
Hell if you really love VTEC all you have to do is throw a racing cam into your engine, it's basically the same thing, then you have VTEC all the time.

I'd rather build a top fuel dragster.

It would beat me in mpg, but not top speed or accel. A top fuel drag car can beat a Z06 vette running full speed down the 1/4 mile track and from a dead start still beat it everytime. It costs 250K per run down the track and thats if nothing breaks or goes wrong. I used to work for a top fuel driver at his motorcycle/marina back home when i was 14-16. Eddie Hill, has one of the fastest top fuel E.T. records.
But to say fantasy wise ok, but could you imagine the cost of insurance.....
I'd take a McLaren F1, custom built from the day you call and order it. it still holds the record for "top speed holder", the Bugatti couldn't maintain the speed of the F1 due to something. they got the top speed run on youtube somewhere.
Ok fantasy wise for me, I'd take the Camaro from Transformers. that would be awesome, A car and A robot all in one...

I thought I'd throw in my 2004 SRT-4 and my son's 1997 S14 turbo. He turbo'd the stock KA24DE with 9psi and a T3/T4 hybrid turbo with a giant intercooler. (everything new from Ebay) All this stuff was new and made in China, but excellent quality. A stainless tubular exhaust manifold, turbo, and wastegate, all new stuff, for $425. By the way, my best time in the SRT is 14.04sec in the quarter mile @98 MPH on a 45F degree night (bone stock). I think my son's 240SX is faster though. His car did a 14.7sec @98MPH on a hot afternoon and his clutch was slipping a bit. I hope these pics upload.http://http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b276/MyCammer/P1001185.jpg

Did you see my pics somehow? I'm not great at posting. Anyhow, did you have problems with launching? I refuse to let my car go into "wheel hop" when I first take off from the start. It feels like it's gonna tear out the motor mounts. So I slip the clutch at about 2500 RPM, then back off the throttle, let the clutch all the way out, and then stab the throttle again. It's not the ultimate method for good times, but I just don't wanna thrash the car. I have been on the SRT forums, but not in a while. I think that the Hahn Racecraft stuff is what I want. I've been all over his website, and I'm impressed. The Mopar Stage 3 is nice too, with the turbo toys, but I don't think it would pass a smog check. The Hahn stuff is all piggybacked onto the stock ECU, so no will know. I wish I knew how to post my pics. Did you see them?

I know I like simplicity when it comes to my cars, I prefer everything for the most part to be inside and under the hood...that's why I really don't care for all the flashy complicated styled bodies, I respect most of the engines though...and pink just because it's something that'd I'd do with a 180sx (I can be girly sometimes, geez)

For me, it's got to have at least some styling. I'd rather there be more work done under to hood, but styling is important too. I'm a big fan of sleeper cars. I'd love to get a nice vtec prelude or fairlady 300Z and do a bunch of stuff to the engine. Then, just get a nice red or black paint job with some nice rims and dark tint. I don't need all those wings and crazy ass body kits the people put on their cars.

Yeah, he installed everything. But the biggest deal with turbocharging a normally aspirated engine is adding extra fuel and adjusting the timing correctly under boost. Fortunately, we put our heads together and picked Jim Wolfe Racing in San Diego to make us a custom ECM. They really know their stuff; they will ask you how much H.P. you plan on making (we decided on 300), and they'll "burn" the ECM accordingly. They also tell you what size injectors to use in conjunction with their ECM. We used a brand new set of 555cc NISMOs, which were somewhat pricey.
My son's car is a '97 240SX, but they told us we had to obtain an ECM from a '95 or '96, and then mail it in to J.W. Racing. It cost $250 for the used ECM, and then $500 to have it re-burned by them. My son dropped the pan and fabbed an oil drainback pipe for the turbo, then he bought a giant generic box of aluminum 3" mandrel bent pipes, 45-degree, 90-degree etc, from Ebay and pieced together the intercooler piping.
We also trailered the car to the muffler shop where they made us a downpipe, (from the turbo to the exhaust system) for pretty cheap. ($125.00) I lent quite a bit of advice to my son on the installation, but he pretty much did all the sweat work himself. A lot of hours invested in it.
By the way, this is a new turbo and it came with a stainless tubular exhaust header with wastegate--all new stuff from China!! We were a little worried if it would last, but we got all 3 items as a set from Ebay for $425, (unbelievable) and it's doing just fine. It's set @ 9psi and it hauls some serious ass.

I would say my favorite car would be one that the passenger window properly rolls up & down,
Which as a result has a dry passenger seat at all times.
the heater actually blows heat and not cold air on your feet in the winter,
the locking mechanisms do not spontaneously decide not to work....typically when you have the door OPEN and go to shut it and the mechanism has locked itself into the lock position and you can't close the door,
the cool feature of push button opening/closing actually works ALL the time,
The doors actually open when you unlock them.
The key actually disarms the alarm when you unlock the door & doesn't make the alarm sound when you open the door.
I am sure there is a few other features my favorite car would have....but those are enough to start with. *smile*

The issue isn't the auto locks working per say....it's that when the door is OPEN the locking mechanism closes and Locks so that you cannot close the door. You can hit lock/unlock as many times as you like and the darn thing does NOTHIN.
Only way to get the door to close is to physically PRY the mechanism open...that takes patience, time and strength and really isn't something I like to do when in the parking lot of a store I am hoping to run in to and grab whatever item I went for.

You are talkin to the wrong person about LOVING your car & still loving it when it is broken. I had just such a car. I cried when it was officially dead.

Did I complain...no. Did we joke about it, of course. Did I provide comical relief for everyone who saw me getting in or out of my little nissan? YEAH!!! But I didn't care it was my little car & I was attached to it.
However- at least it had reliability and you knew you would get from point A to point B safely and you knew the doors would all shut so there were no worries of the kids being in danger of spontaneously falling out.
Anyways....I am working on getting myself a new car...so I can give the company dodge the middle finger! :)

N3's favorite cars remind me of bugs. heehee. :D
My mom is looking into buying a new car. She has a Celica, but wants something smaller though not a kei car. Any suggestions that aren't drifter cars? She's in her fifties and needs something she can get in and out of easily. heh.
This is what she needs:

Me...I want a Mitsubishi Galant, sport edition. But If the price is a factor, I'd settle for a Wagon R Stingray.

I'm partial to the somewhat affordable Elise. It has to be red though. The Mazda Miata seems to be the mid-life crisis car on Okinawa, but a Lotus would be nicer. I have about 10 years to save up for mine.
It may not be the fastest, or the best handling.. but it has good head turning ability.

Not the best handling? That's what the elise is known for! But I would go for the exige.

I've always notice the Flintstone's car had a steering wheel and column on it but could never figure out how they got that damn thing to actually turn.

I had my first date in a green four-door AMC Hornet (1977). It was truly the height of sh&t engineering.

Ian, you'll appreciate this one on two counts: One of our nice new 10-speeds got stolen off campus in Ann Arbor, but one day as I was driving my inlaw's AMC Rambler in town I someone riding spotted it, made a quick U-turn to chase it, whereupon the %#@@* P.O.S. just died in the middle of the road.
(Sure you know that the president of American Motors back in those days was the father of Governor Mitt Romney)

Funny you should ask........I ordered a new oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets and pushrod tube O-rings from Larry's Corvairs in L.A. 3 days later they arrived via UPS and were subsequently thrashed & strewn all over the front yard by my big baby shepherd, Matti. So I got another set and I installed the oil pan gasket today.
Here are some pics from when we went up to Seattle to buy it. (actually, 2 hours east....looks dry, eh?) It was pretty much mint condition except for needing mechanical TLC, which is right up my alley. I've already done a complete brake job from master cylinder to wheel cylinder, shoes etc. and rebuilt the carb, new points/condenser. I don't know if I mentioned it, but supposedly this car was in storage since 1974. It's a 1965 Corvair Corsa turbo. I'd actually been looking for a green one because I sold my old green one in 1990. You can spot a true turbo 'vair by the exhaust cutout in the rear valence panel and big chrome single tip. (unless someone has done a scam job & installed one)

My favorite Oki car is the one I'm driving; 94' Cedric, pimped out. You'd expect Suge Knight to get out of that thing (funny thing is that the total opposite gets out!) In america I'd have to say a 59 caddy, convertible. The BOAT

Okay, this time I'm sure!!! Honest!!! Try Googling KPGC-10 or KPGC-110 and see what you find. These early "Hakosuka" Nissan Skyline GTRs (1971/1972) are turning into the Hemi-Cudas of Japan. They're gorgeous, drool-worthy and I might have to get one. Did you know that there aren't any safety or smog requirments that need to be met if you bring a Japanese car of this age back to the states? As far as I know......
