Takes about 30 min., to set up. So far very cool. Still learning.

The DRM on that game is ridiculous. Be warned that you can install it only on 3 machines. If you upgrade your computer, it's considered another machine. Once you've used up your 3 installs, you have to buy the game again. I downloaded it because of that, but if they remove that, then I'll buy it as long as they fix a problem I've been having.

I play on my Mac. The creature creator ran beautifully and the cell stage of the game ran beautifully, but as soon as I sprouted some legs to go rampage the land, the game dropped to about 5 frames per second. From what I hear, this is due to the lighting effects and the ATI cards in some Macs, while more than capable of handling it, choke until you turn the effects down to the lowest. I can play Oblivion on this computer, but Spore runs like crap...

I enjoyed the cell stage and what I've played of the stage after that, but the game runs so poorly that I can't get any further. Once they fix it, I'll be able to play a little further and really get a feel for the game.

I have been waiting for this game for a while. Had fun messing with creature creature which they got a the BX a few weeks prior , now its even more fun actually doing something with my creations.

Cell stage was fun currently on creature stage. Seems to run pretty good on my new mac from the BX.

Cell stage is kinda like pac man, but instead of yellow pills, you eat either plant,meat or both, depending on what mouth you chose, or evolve to.

Creature stage is kinda like WOW, and you can beat up the other creatures or make friends with them

This is as far as I have gotten, but the rest of the game is supposed to be like Starcraft, and then like Civilization games

Sounds like a beefed up version of E.V.O. I loved that game growing up and I still do to this day. I might have to pick up spore, but I think I'll wait until it comes out on the 360 because my computer is starting to get old.

We might purchase the game. We have had the creature creator for a while and waited for the game to be released. Mr.Trail is a SimCity fan and we've enjoyed most of those type games from Maxis anyways. I will probably be happy with this one as well. I can't wait to see what it's like with the new graphics card we just put in!

I've alwasy enjoyed sim city and I think I'll enjoy this game. I went to the bx during my lunch break and picked it up. They had a ton of copies so I don't think they'll run out anytime soon. I'm worried I might have to play it on a lower setting but I think my system will be able to handle it.

Yeah I'm curious about that. After you evolve from a cell can you edit your monster and change his appearance? Or is he/she stuck in one pre determined form? Basically I want to know if I can sculpt my monster into a giant penis or will his shape be pre determined by what I did as a cell?

Cell stage, and creature stage are tottaly seperate

And during each stage and time you decide to pop out a baby, you can tottaly revamp your creature with what ever parts you picked up in those stages.

Man I've been playing this game too much:D. I'm still fooling around in the creature stage trying to make my creatures look cool. I've got a carnivore and omnivore that I'm finished with and I've got a herbivore that still needs work. Anyways, here they are!

My carnivore, which was my first creature and I just finished it today. But I'm not sure, I think I might chagne the eyes and get rid of the bone plate on his legs:

I just got the regular game, didn't even bother buying the "Creature Creator" Edition. I saw the Galactic Edition, I think the price was $78.95. There is no way in heck that I will pay that much money for a game. As it is, I haven't had much time to mess around with the regular game. I'm in the creature stage at the moment, as a carnivore. Perhaps I should have started out as a herbivore, because my silly creation is having a hard time finding food.

Can't wait for "Duke Nukem Forever" to come out. But SPORE is pretty cool.:old:

Omnivore is the way to go! If meat is hard to come by you can just start eating the random fruit that is lying on the ground. I just beat the tribal stage and it was A LOT easier to have some of my guys fishing or picking fruit instead of hunting animals.

Yeah, that's what I wanted to start out as, but the PC version doesn't give you that option.I installed the game, got it registered much to my surprise (heard people had some problems with the registration portion back in the states), fired the game up, patched to version 1.01, restarted the computer.

Fired up the game again, and while the word omnivore showed on the screen within the cell stage, clicking that option doesn't seem to work for me. I'm running XP-Pro, and perhaps you need Vista for that to work. Or it just installed incorrectly the first time.

I'll figure it out eventually.:scratchchin:

I think you have to play though the cell stage first and find the omnivore jaws to unlock the omnivore cell stage. But even if you don't unlock it in the cell stage, you can start off in the creature stage as an omnivore if you beat the cell stage as an herbivore or carnivore.

I was going to go back and find out how to unlock the omnivore jaws in the cell stage but I put too much work into my omnivore I started in the creature stage to do it all over again.

if you balance yourself out between eating meat and plants, then your creature will be an omnivore for the next stage. you can also see how your doing by clicking the button on the end. (the same one used to go to the next stage)

I got the omnivore jaws in the cell stage last night by eating the omnivore cell. I was a carnivore and it was tricky because the green omnivore creature is really fast. I gave my cell cilia and a jet and he still had trouble catching it. Manage to corner him, ram him, and eat him.

I was tempted the other day. The soccer game and Force Unleashed are pretty good, I am surprised on how good the graphics are on there. Looks like the DS has some new competition in the handheld market.

Okay, here is my iPod/iPhone Spore Origins review

First you have to pay 9.99 for the game and it does take a bit for the game to load on your device. When you start up the game is take a little bit to load ans it has a cute intro that you ca fast forward through. you have the option to name your creature and choose an cell by hitting the randomize button, not a huge selection but it's ok considering its on an ipod.

To move the cell around you have to tilt the ipod in the direction you want it to go, there is no speed control however, so you have to learn to really control the movement of your creature. Once I get to really sit down and play the game, i will write more. Photos of the game are coming in a bit.

Some quick notes about the DRM:
It's not considered a separate machine if you upgrade. Small, incremental changes do not use up an activation.
If you do run out of activations then you have to call EA to get more activations. All it takes is a call. :)
They recently updated the DRM to allow you to de-authorize a machine (effectively refunding one activation).
They also upped the activation limit to 5.
