My work is Top Secret and critical for the National Defense as well as Foriegn Policy. To reveal my employer would compromise the over-all objective and lead to the downfall of Capitalism. All I can say is I work for very dangerous people.

No not some one undercover whatever that means. It is only my definition and im sure not yours but i was talking about some one who lives here and works on the local economy. Im sure you know what i mean my last post is pretty clear and only some one who is sucking the base tit would be offended. Ok i will say it a different way for those of you civilians who do work on base would you still be here if the bases are gone and what would you do? Of course this really doesnt apply to those of who who are retired and live here with your family much respect to all people who have served your country and retired. Good on you.

Real civilian? Hmmm...... is that related to a settler by any chance?
And speaking of sucking off the base tit.....not us real civilians style, who the hell would want to suck a tit that damn big anyway.:argh14:

Must be nice, but for now the tit is sufficient, one day though I too will be a truly free man.
If the bases were gone I'd hustle and most likely succeed greater than I ever would by settling for second best and sucking the ever so accessible tit!
I did the life of a real civilian (off-base onry) for ten years and I have to say that it is completely inadequate for any self-respecting individual with even an ounce of education unless you get lucky and get hired by a decent school to teach english, are bilingual and get hired by an IT company, or just seriously get lucky. In the past ten years, I've put up with shitty salaries and zero benefits, and I'm done with that. So, I'm hoping to sell my soul to the bases soon. I didn't put five years in college to earn thirty grand a year.

At this time, it's not rewarding enough for the hustle unless you want to change careers and become an English teacher. After studying IT for most of my life, I could not respect myself if I were to go back to teaching twelve year olds. Some people really enjoy it, though, so kudos to them.
I understand that there is a sense of pride when you survive on the local economy and aren't being paid by the base, but everything has a cost, and I can be bought out for a decent price. Tuition assistance? I'm yours.
Oh, also, unless you are lucky, bilingual, or both, if you are in a technical field, you will likely NOT find challenging work off-base. One reason I am pursuing a base job is so that I can finally get away from working for broke companies that can't afford technology. If I had stayed at the job I quit in April, I'd be doing the same exact thing probably ten years from now, which any entry-level programmer can do. It got really boring and unfulfilling, and that demoralized me more than the lack of a decent salary/benefits.
If you ARE bilingual, you can make a lot of money in IT in Japan. So, my next goal is to become fluent.

Thank you, Rossi. I should know pretty soon. :)
Yes, this is far fetched but my goal is to be fluent (in Japanese) and work on my own from PC and cell phone, and be wealthy and successful enough to divide my time between houses in London, Spain, NYC, Chicago, San Diego, Okinawa, and Tokyo .
