We're not PCSing anytime sure, but i just want to know if it is possible for me to PCS with my Chinchillas, and what I need to do to get them to our next duty station.

I tried finding info on this website (and the links it references) about Chinchillas but no luck.

I would contact the Japanese embassy to see if you can get some more specific answers about that. Do it now before you get rushed and then you have plenty of time to prepare. It may involve a lot of paperwork or you may need a back up plan in the event that they don't allow them to come.

Call TMO, they have a list of animals you can and cannot take IIRC. I thought I saw something on my TMO paperwork about hamsters and gerbils but don't recall seeing anything about chinchillas.

Good suggestion - I would think they would fall in the same category.

You might have a difficult time since we tried to bring our rats to Japan with us. However, like with dogs/cats, it maybe easier to take them back to the States due to the rabies quarantine being less strict for the US vs. Japan. Like P_chan said, double check with TMO.

This deserves a bump. Another 5 star thread. Excellent reading on the transport of everybody's favorite pet; the chincilla.
