One word of caution for people who have access to Japanese newpapers and can get the information for movies not all of the new releases are in English.

Particularly movies like Shrek 3, there was no subtitled version being shown at the SouthernPlex, and I checked the Mihama 7 Plex does not have an English version either, only a dubbed Japanese version.

One needs to look for the kanji 字幕 which reads じまく or jimaku, meaning subtitled in Japanese.

If one sees the following kanji next to the movie advertisement 吹替 which reads ふきかえ or fukikae, which means it is dubbed.

The off-base movie section is great, but it would be better if it included the Southern Plex (the other large multiplex cinema in Okinawa
There are 3 multiplex theaters in Okinawa. Here are the links;

Cinema Q (http://movie.okinawajoho.net/cinema_hall.php?id=1)
Which is in Omoromachi, otherwise known as Shintoshin, inside the Sanei.

SouthernPlex (http://movie.okinawajoho.net/cinema_hall.php?id=5)
Which is across the street, behind the Haebaru JUSCO. Customers can also use the JUSCO parking lot for parking their cars as well.

Mihama 7 Plex (http://movie.okinawajoho.net/cinema_hall.php?id=4) Which is next to the Mihama JUSCO.

If you want to know what is playing at Mihama 7plex, this is a site good for that. If you know some basic Japanese (e.g. days of week or kana), it is even better.

Mihama 7plex doesn't have an official site, so this site's times are sometime off by 5 or 10 mins for starting times, but usually not.

Movies and times at Mihama 7plex (http://movie.okinawajoho.net/cinema_hall.php?id=4)

Btw, where you see the times listed, the top row is for Sunday through Friday.

The bottom row is for Saturdays.

TP - you missed one other multiplex. It's quite different from the others, located near Kokusai dori, called Sakurazaka. If you ever haunted the "art theaters" at home you'll feel right at home, and they get some good English language and subtitled films now and then.

The only problem is parking - you have to pay, prolly 4-500 yen for the length of a movie.

Well, let's get that Palette Kumoji link up, because it's just as good as the others. (It's where I saw Sicko too.)
