Just wanted to share with everyone a telephone call I took for my father in law about 30 minutes or so ago.
This guy called up from the local SanEi and said that back on August 22nd, my father in law was over-charged 50 yen for a bag of cucumbers that he purchased that day. The asked that the next time that he comes to the store to please give one of the register people his name and they would refund the money that they overcharged him.
They were very polite and apologetic for their mistake. Oh they knew who it was because he used his San Ei card.
I mean hell it is only 50 yen and it is the principle of the matter but anyway my image of the local San Ei changed quite a bit after that call. It could have been just as easy for them to not say anything and keep the extra money even though it was 50 yen, but their honesty, in such a small matter surprised me.:thumbup:
