A friend of mine's mother came back to Okinawa about 15 years ago. She was originally from here and came back. I have to assume homesick, Amercian culture shock things of that nature.
Her name is... Eiko Onaga and lives in Nago City.
If anyone knows of this woman could they please email me. Her son would like to get into contact with her. He has not seen her since he was about 11 or so.
His father's last name was Lyons. Not sure his first name.
Any information on her or how I could start to look for her would be great.
Thank you,
Jenn

Wow, coldnoodles! I am impressed. Great work. JU should do a story on your sleuthing and perhaps you could attract some volunteers to help you in this. I think it is a great service -- you offering your time to go out of the way like this. Definitely deserves recognition.
Admin and Mods have already discussed that if a lot of posts of people looking to track down others begins to pick up, we would create a whole new category for it to keep it streamlined and organized. Perhaps that would help you and others in this kind of thing.

How I find people, american people don't believe. Its kinda like my husband the other day wanted to go to a hobby shop, he showed me the address and asked me how to get there. We were in the van so I didn't have access to computer, but I told him its by a dragon restaurant, there was a mcdonalds up the street. Here I was telling him to go out the gate and onto 75. After we got there he said I was so awesome! but how did I know about the dragon restaurant and the other stuff we passed?? We have a map in the van, everything is in Japanese. So its complicated to explain how I find things, cuz you would never believe it!
Does his father live here or in the states? Do you know how old the mother would be? Or any parts of the address or phone #?

Thanks for bringing that up. :) That was the first thing that crossed my mind the second I saw this post. I'll probably go ahead and create the category this afternoon. I'm going to try to get some sleep again in a few minutes.

Coldnoodles,
His father does not live here. He lives in the states. She left him 14 years ago and the address that I have is about 7 years old and the woman is in her 70's not really sure. Tom was a kid when she left and his father won't speak of her. I could only imagine that he was hurt when she left. I understand my mother died when I was young and my father won't speak of her either. Damn Irish men!
I do have a picture of her if you want to email me privately I will email you a picture of her and her information that I have.
Any help would be fantastic!
We just arrived to the Island only a month ago but I would like to help my friend as much as possible. He is more like family to us then friends I am sure you can relate.
