Anybody hear about this? I can't find a link in english and my Japanese skills are lacking so I'm having trouble finding a link. But on friday night (July 18th) there was a helicopter and two boats searching the water with spot lights. Surf was real rough that day so I suspected that someone had drowned. Wife told me that three surfers were dragged out two sea and the two females made it back. But the thrid surfer (male) couldn't be found as of saturday morning.

Was wondering if anyone else heard anything about this? Did they find the third guy? Did he drown? Anybody have a link in english or japanese with more info on the story?

Yeah, I was at the place where they launched the rescue boats from. We figured it was a surfer, but didn't get the gouge. I can tell you the chopper was out long after the boats all came back.

I was walking my dog on the beach once I noticed the boats and the chopper. Watched them for a good hour before heading back. Wife said she read something in the okinawa times but didn't hear anything else about it.

That stands to reason with the boat that wouldn't start and the search that lasted about five minutes. lol...
