Hi Guys,
I'm thinking about making a separate category on the forums for us to add our myspace addresses. I've noticed a few of you have already listed your myspace accounts in your profiles, but I'm thinking about making it a little more organized and putting it all under one category. If I do this, I will also make it so that ONLY members will be able to see this category.
What do you guys think? I personally wouldn't mind listing my myspace address on something like this. It could be some good networking. I'm a little shy with my address usually, but these forums are a good place for us to get to know each other, so it might be a pretty cool idea.

It is said that myspace is the paedophile's playground. Sounds like a scary place to me.

I've lots of weirdos wanting to be my "friend" on Myspace and lots of spams from music superstar wannabes but not on Facebook. Most of my real life friends're on Facebook so it's a good way to keep in touch.
The thing is, more people seem to use myspace. A few of our users have listed their myspace addresses. I haven't seen anyone list a facebook.
And besides, the internet as a whole is a "paedophile's playground". Not just myspace.
I was a myspace basher for a long time. A friend of mine pretty much had to force me to create my account earlier this year. And since doing so, I've come back into contact with a bunch of my highschool/college friends without me putting in much effort whatsoever. It actually comes in pretty handy.

Yeah- well parents should keep an eye on what their kids are doing!!!
75% of my myspace is catching up with friends and keeping them updated on what's happening at our end and pics of the kids.
Then I keep up to date on my fav groups, I have also made one or two friends when they have done content searches and liked what I have said on my page.
It is essentially a consolidation of all those individual websites people used to go around makin for themselves and family.
There are pervs on there & teenagers that give out too much info. Or chicks who intentionally post pics to "lead" people on. But you have that all over the web anyways.

Not to sure. Like you, I am also a bit shy with sharing my address just because myspace seems more personal then the forums. I don't mind sharing it with friends and such, but not sure about strangers from the forums learning more about me from there.
Will have to think about it.

I have a myspace acct. cuz my brother who has one, wanted me to be his friend so he can get girls. And I found my Hmong family searching for people. I never use it, unless someone sends me message.

Yeah, I really don't put too much work into my myspace. I barely ever post bulletins and only sometimes update pictures. It's just there to let my long distance friends know I'm still alive and have a kid now lol.

I really only change things up when I'm bored on the weekends and I have absolutely NOTHING better to do. Mine, I just keep up with my friends, find out just about everyday now that someone is pregnant. I feel weird because I'm the only one out of my orginal friends who is going to college and isn't married/pregnant/engaged. I'm only TWENTY!! LOL....but I have plans, like going to auto tech school and all that. I'm not ready for a baby and a hubby yet. I used to be addicted to myspace, now I just use it to keep in touch with family and friends. :D

I was told about MySpace by a friend of mine who has a page on it. It's very handy to have such a central place to keep in contact with all my friends who live elsewhere. I know of teenagers who have a MySpace page as well. The parents access the page and moderate activity. I have my page set to block annoyances like bands and random friend requests. Each person, except one, listed as a friend is a person I have met in person. I like keeping in touch with old classmates and friends from everywhere I've been. It's practically essential for someone connected to the military who likes to stay in touch with friends. I am biased though, because I met my husband through MySpace. :D

Ehh..I dont entirely agree with this comment. Every single person on my friends is someone I have met in person throughout my entire life. I dont consider myself weird nor am I looking for anyone. Considering my husband is on my friends list also. I am there to catch up with old friends and keep up with the new ones as well. It is only a meat market if that is what you are using it for.

I agree with Holleray, not everyone on myspace is a freak. I too know a vast majority of my friends in person! It's a good place to keep in contact with old friends, but I've been neglecting myspace lately.

I love myspace, me and my two friends are always online and use it to talk all the time...well its usually a one sided conversation though...Tom and Ozzie never reply....

also 9 outa 10 on my page are family to see my kids and the rest are close friends
Same here. Most of the people on my myspace are highschool and college friends and people I've met/known on these forums.

I agree with Hol and some of the others, I use myspace for family and friends that are mostly far away (london and NYC) you can block all the bands and the silly friend requests from freaky people!

That would work I think. Though a directory could be cool to do a quick scan of other users with a myspace page. And any females with hot pics on their myspace page can PM me! :thumbup:
