You have to think to yourself: "Is it worth it?" Getting kicked out of base housing, paying for the moving company out of your own pocket and not recieving support from the housing office is what you have to look forward to... as well as possible administrative punishment for the active duty spouse in your house.

What a selfish thing to do. Don't you know that pets in enclosed spaces like the towers spread disease and dander to those who may be allergic?

What if your son was allergic to gerbils and some dumb ass next door got 5 or 6?

You would think people with kids would be more considerate.

No problem mokei. Unlike things that take place in the States, rules and regs are enforced a lot more here in Oki.

In the Towers, as you obviously already know, you are NOT ALLOWED to have pets. If you wanted a pet you should have gotten multiplex base housing. Many people live in the towers because they do not want to deal with pets or someone else's pet. Otis also brought up a great point with allergies. What you plan on doing is selfish and childish. If I were you I'd also report the other person who has the pet.

Um, you know that folks can't choose what housing area they are offered right? I only know of one person that asked for the towers.

We were offer 2 options in the towers and 1 multiplex. Unless things have changed THAT drastically within one year, you should have had at least 1 multiplex offer.

Remember, it depends on how many children you have.

Even if they did let you have a dog in the towers I would hope you would be ready to walk it on a daily basis.

I am sorry to hear that. I do not know what housing is like this year but everyone I am friends with that have moved in within the past year have been given at least 1 multiplex offer. It may not be the best multiplex but it was an offer none the less. I do not care for how housing is ran but I have no say in it.

What a nightmare it would be if pets were allowed in the towers. I could imagine crap and piss all over the hall floors and elevators. Nevermind the balconies. I am sure that many would have their precious pet pissing and crapping out there as well.

I only imagine all that due to what I have seen when visiting someone that lives in the towers. It was very obvious that some residents had snuck cats in. I had gone to take some trash out and some dumb ass had dumped kitty litter all over the place. You could smell the stench way before you got there. That mess with cats..dogs would be worse.

It probably depends on what base housing is available at the time. There was a ton of base housing available when we got here in 06, but I hear now it's pretty scarce because everyone wants to live on base.

I think it would be a PITA to have a dog in the towers. Would you really want to wait for an elevator and the ride down while fido has to pee? And with you having to walk the dog all the time, someone will eventually see the pet and narc on you.

We got here 1.5 yrs ago. Another Gunny in the hotel with us at the time...had 2 kids, we have 1. He was offered 2 towers nothing else....we were offered, a 3 BR single house and a multiplex on Lester. Housing told us, you get what the computer brings up as being next in line...but we all know how you can count on someone telling you correct info! ha So who knows if that is how it goes or not.

I thought kids were considered pets in the towers. I got mine micro-chipped and keep them in kennels during the day... :w00t:

We didnt ask for the towers I have also talked to another person about when they brought a pet over and they actually lived offbase for a year before they were able to get a house on base because all that was available for them was the towers. Totally agree with you...But I have seen golden retreivers and people with 2 or 3 cats and ferrets....we have a bird but it is kept outside on our porch...speaking of which If anyone wants a bird I am selling a Rainbow Lorikeet she just doesnt get enough time now that my husband is working?

I asked for the Towers.......I don't care to hear barking dogs......deal with yard work or cats......This is the perfect place for us.

i used to live in the towers and the walls are pretty thin, so i would assume people with dogs would get caught. right when you step out of the elevator, you can hear people's televisions and people talking. sooo a barking dog would definitely cause problems. fish are fine to have but no cats or dogs.
