Anybody know where I can see the Japanese comedy shows, or any shows of that matter which are subtitled in English? I can`t seem to find any place on the net which has them.

Good luck. I tried to find them for my first five years here. They are few and far between, but occasionally they do pop up.

youtube has some of them.
This is an "animation" but it is pretty funny if you can understand even a little Japanese. I was going to link to the page but the video keeps popping up, Just go to You Tube and type in Golden Eggs into the search and you should see this video trailer along with others as well.

I've heard of golden eggs and my wife says it's funny. Never really watched it myself. I believe you can buy the dvds at village vanguard and they even have english subtitles.

We find our Japanese shows (Downtown - Gaki no Tsukai, Iron Chef, etc.) with subtitles on You Tube and Veoh usually. If you find another venue, please tell. :)

I need to invest in a cheap japanese dvd player.
I need to invest in a cheap japanese dvd player.
Why? I hacked my DVD and made it region free. Wasnt all that hard, just finding the right codes.
Region settings truly suck though.

Well here is an idea for a new thread. There are plenty of sites out there that have information available to make your DVD region free.
I checked through the make and model of my player and the "hack" was as simple as turning on the dvd player leaving the dvd tray out, and hitting a sequence of numbers on the r/c to get to the manufacturer's settings. Then I was able to set the region to zero, which for my player made it region free.

The hack thing is a good idea. If you need a new player anyway, lots of places have the region-free ones. You can even get them online from Costco or FBC.

I bought a JP DVD player at Makeman for 25 bucks so I could watch Tsutaya movies downstairs.
