Happy 4th!!!!!

O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Thanks for the kind remarks. Your posts are still here and viewable, but had nothing to do with a Happy 4th...so I moved them. Enjoy the rest of your day. Arrogant...lol:rolleyes:

I always prefer my glass to be half-full . . .preferably with a glass of some rich and dry merlot or cab.

As I watch a good movie or two.

Happy INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Sorry, happy 4th of July really irks me. You don't say happy Oct 31st for Halloween. You don't say happy Dec 25th for X-mas. Why 4th of July then? I feel like it really takes away from the day itself. I know this is just a pointless rant and hopefully it doesn't ruin the thread...sorry.

Happy Independence Day America and too all that hold your glory to what it is!

It was...after finally deciding to go to Yokota for the festivities...still a kind of "somber" and "reflectful" day. Mainy because of (and many thanks to) the forums here. I had never thought about those innocents on both sides who've suffered and died so that I and others have the rights and freedoms we enjoy today. To those, as well as to all the others who helped and continue to help the cause of freedom of the USA, I salute you. I'll think of you ALL as I view "the rocket's red glare" from the fireworks on the U.S. military installation in a foreign land. As DocTurtle says: "Happy Independence Day!!!"

The post in question was ignorant of me. It just popped into my conspiracy theory filled head this morning. I think from something I learned in American Government class. But, I guess those white home-owners were doing it for any and all men, it's not their day - especially anymore I guess........

Happy Independence Day all!

It's cool. And don't forget a lot of those white homeowners are ex-homeowners now.
