How do you get there anyways? Not that I'd go there because it's agaisnt SOFA regulations for any SOFA member to even be up at the drift track in nago:D

Are you absolutely positively sure about that? You may want to look into that a little further.:thumbup1:

Not sure about all branches on Okinawa but there is an 18 Wing Policy letter prohibiting using, spectating or whatever at Nago Circuit by an civilian, dependent or active duty member of the 18 Wing.

You are.... wrong. It is against regulations for Air Force members to be at either of the "tracks" here. It is a wing order. Marines, Army, and Navy are safe!

Sounds interesting...I love the designing aspect of the underground racing culture...but I'm no racer.

Yeah I'm no racer either but I've always been interested in cars and enjoyed watching races. Touring style, drag, and drift are my favorite to watch. But drag can be kinda boring if you get the same few guys running over and over again. NASCAR makes me :barf:

i actually organize driving events up at Nago Circuit about 1 time a month. The next event is going to be on September 6th. Usually they are Autocross events, but the event on the 6th is a Drift Competition.

The order doesnt say anything about AF personnel attending "non-drift" events at the bullring. it says specifically Nago and Drifting events.

I would love to be a spectator at one of these events. Are there some hot chicks going to be there? I actually thought there would be racing or auto hang out spots here in Okinawa. Maybe I just don't hang with the right people. No Auto shows or nothing here in Okinawa? I know about the auto salon in Main land once a year. Wow someone could make a killing if they would organize a event for locals and military folks to show off there rides.

I went to Formula D - Atlanta in 2006. Had a great time. I don't understand why the wing would ban spectating unless there were no safety barriers.

The whole point of having a track is so that people would have a place to safely do it and that a medical staff would be on hand if anything happened.

Or people might've been blacklisted for fights & etc. dunno...

I’ve been to Nago circuit many times in the past, do they still charge 2,000 yen to get in, just to watch? Wish Nago circuit was bigger, seems short when they do stright line drag. I'd like it when a guy would slam on the brakes and hit the dirt wall, owie!

In the fall of 2002, I got a all area pass to the pit area, track, grand stands, driver briefing, crew area, etc, to the Kansas City Speedway Protection One 400, September 29, 2002. That was so awesome and wow you really don’t appreciate how fast those cars go until you see them in person. The pit area was a real trip, got driver cards, posters, etc., you could see how each pit crew set up differently and how fast they are when they change tires during a pit stop. Dale Jarrett was my favorite driver for years, I got within 3 feet of him that day, and then got trampled on by some overweight caucasian females, whoa they were vicious mean pushing and wanting an autograph, and they did not care who was in thier way, kids too get smashed by them.

A co-worker (well in the same battalion as me) got a ticket for loitering and trespassing down at Naha Port, (Can’t remember the name of it, but where all the shipping containers are kept) for just standing on the side watching guys drift. The J.P. blocked their cars in and they could'nt leave, so he paid like $700.00 in fines for that, bummer. Needless to say, he parked his car out side the loading dock area, near the entrance in the future.

When I drifted, I’d go see my buddy at the tire shop on the hill outside Foster housing gate. He used to give me old tires for something in exchange. *wink*

I’ll try to post some pictures.

Peace! :army:

youd be suprised at how hard it is to get anyone to do anything organized. especially via the internet.. especially people that claim to be drivers

with that said..

here is the next "American Organized" event
