I received 4 email from a saleperson from starts and stripes asking me to put my Japan Update ads into the Stars and Stripes. Has the Stars and Stripes newspaper gone to telemarketing? Can someone help? or explain

Wow, that is messed up and not right. I put in an ad a while ago and have not gotten anything like that.

I get those all the time when I put ads in JU.

I find their classifieds suck because they are so outdated. It takes about a week for your ad to be listed there, and by that time your stuff is usually sold; or if you're looking through there to buy stuff, it's usually sold already.

I am pissed because they sent me 4 or the same emails. They actually copied and pasted my ad from the JU and put it in an email.

I reply to the emails and ask them wtf?? Then I forward that to the ombudsman at S&S...I doubt the ombudsman condones this.

They've been doing this ever since I built the JU classifieds, and probably even before then. It just blows my mind that, with their resources, they haven't found a way to compete. This isn't rocket science.

It's SPAM. Unwanted solicitations that I and many people don't want to get.

I just received more bullshit from the stars and stripes and YES i was hurt. I thought someone was replying to my numkerous ads. Since I am leaving in 3 weeks. every email I receive about an ad is important. These damn stars and stripes people must go down. I will take them out before I leave beautiful Okinawa to go to beautiful Hawaii:thumbup1:

It's actually a fairly recent thing (in old guy time) and started when .... well i won't say who it started with but you can see it's someone who needs to get ps&s more involved & read locally.
