Last night I got a ticket for illegal parking in Okinawa City. Does anyone know how much it might cost?

The last one I had was 13000 Yen. $130.oo. I had to go to the bank and pay it and then they give you a reciept and you take that to the issuing police station. If you dont pay it, and you have a Y plate and are SOFA, they will call PMO and PMO will call your place of work.

I thought you paid it at the post office. Someone please clarify this, because I'm about to pay mine and don't want to drive all over hell and creation with a baby to do so. Thanks.

Not sure myself socal. Speeding tickets are paid at the post office though. I would think parking tickets would be the same.

AFAIK, you can pay parking, speeding, and other tickets from the police at any bank, post office, or at a large police station (koban and small sub-stations do not handle these).

So do you wait for a ticket to come in the mail or is the yellow sticker the ticket?
Thnx

I asked my wife, the ticket PRO and she only got her parking tickets when they towed her car so that's no help sorry. Oh yeah if they tow it it's ¥33,000-¥35,000 lol, she couldn't remember which one.

The yellow ticket's not it, I got one in Sunabe about three weeks ago and got the fine through the post about ten days later. Loads of paperwork going into minute details about where I'd parked! Cost me 15,000yen and I paid it at the Ryukyu Bank, you can pay it at Okinawa Ginko as well

Take the yellow sticker to a police station (There's one out gate2 accross the street from Wendy's). Take your registration and insurance paperwork. They'll issue the ticket. Take the ticket to the bank or post office. The police station can tell you where as well as how much you owe. If you're active duty military be sure to save the reciept and let your First Sergent/Supervisor know. They will mail tickets to the SPs.

I got one at the Naha airport years ago. The only "Y" plate in a line of about 20 cars parked by the curb. They padlocked a ticket to my outside mirror and I had to pay right there at the airport. Cost me 12000 if I remember correctly. Oh yea, it was reported to the Commander rather quickly!!!
