Some people just hate it when what animals experience is compared to the experience of Jews at the hands of the Nazis during WW2. "How dare one do so!?" is the retort that is almost sure to follow.
The book "Eternal Treblinka" by Charles Patterson does just that! And it has been making an international sensation, being translated in already 14 languages after 83 publishers refused to print it when first approached, citing it as being too strong (the cringe factor).
In February (http://www.emediawire.com/releases/2008/6/prweb1015164.htm), 2005 a jury of 30 of the Germany's leading scholars and media figures chose "Für die Tiere ist jeden Tag Treblinka" (ISBN 3-86150-649-1), the German edition of Eternal Treblinka, as one of the country's ten most important non-fiction books. It was honored alongside books about Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci and World War I.
And the words of some about Eternal Treblinka:
"I urge you to read Eternal Treblinka and think deeply about its important message." -- Dr. Jane Goodall, UK
"The moral challenge posed by Eternal Treblinka turns it into a must for anyone who seeks to delve into the universal lesson of the Holocaust." -- Maariv (Israeli newspaper)
"Eternal Treblinka should be on every list of essential reading for an informed citizenry...for the compelling comprehensiveness of the life-and-death story it tells." -- National Jewish Post & Opinion, USA
