wow so a moderator gets schooled on here and what do they do??? yeah they pull the rule book on em and abuse the powers to be again. Hmmm I wonder why there are so many obscene and bias rules mostly created by one moderator.

funny when somebody gets schooled and can't accept it.

Wait, pulling out the rule book is abusing power? Which planet were you born on again?

newvalor
06-09-2008, 02:33 PM
haha what a wimp, can't even handle the truth still.

pulling out the rule book is not abusing powers, but creating rules that work in ones favor especially when they create them and overly use them when in a losing arguement I feel is abusive.

You don't see active members using rules to win an arguement do you.

Plus if said be was not true then why not let me previous post stay as seen. Too butthurt to let others see a reaction from others.

LMAO.. this is getting good...

I haven't even started yet.

I still wonder why rules are broken out and then used as if somebody did something illegal. especially when somebody just lost an arguement the loser had to use the rules to turn the tables to win.

Hmm, I've seen debates won before without resorting to name-calling. I'm pretty sure it's possible. Anyone else seen these before? Or have I been watching too much Twilight Show?

yeah too bad a person takes the word wimp as name calling, I personally would say the person that feels insulted by a 3yr olds term should grow a backbone.

But either way let the infactions keep coming cause somebody has thier panties in a bunch.

gee maybe I should see if a rule could be set in place to where you can just click "grow backbone" and move on with defeat instead of using a low blow manuever.

Are you dense??? I don't even see that as an insult but more of a factual guess to how that persons point of view is, just like a liberal debate.

dk

while rules are rules.. there is a selective enforcement.. it seems that when something is not going the way TP wants he is quick to put down the hammer..

this almost always happens in his own threads.. while i have seen insults threats and numerous off topic posts that never get any attention because he may be to busyt policing his own threads...

just my observation
Look at my avatar.

Ok, now, listen.

EVERYBODY (You, me, and yes, even P_chan) has the ability to report posts when threads are being driven off-topic.
Most people don't CARE when their threads go slightly off-topic.
TP does not like his threads being derailed.
TP is ABLE to clean threads up without permission.
TP cleans his own threads up.It's very simple really. If you have a genuine problem with another thread being derailed, REPORT IT. ANYONE!

TP, go ahead and split the thread, or I will. The discussion has already started. There is no need to continue on with the infractions when another thread should just be made. Let's make this a win/win situation: Your thread stays clean. Newvalor doesn't receive a shitload of infractions.

I respect who ya are and all, no problem with that. I just don't like people that can't grow a backbone to a 3 yr old insult. Yeah he may keep his threads cleaned, but a moderator has to use rules to enforce thier point of view and I see that as a low blow in a losing arguement.

he can infact me all he wants, won't affect me. I live my life my way and if I don't agree with something I don't make rules up to win an arguement.

Eh on some other forums they just delete the post if they do not like it or move the thread to another section where it never sees the light of day. Also on some other forums I frequent, when you go toe to toe with the Admin, you get hit with the ban stick of eternity. Here though, things are pretty mellow.:thumbup1:

Refrain from name-calling. -- TP

3. Any spamming, bashing, cursing, calling names, slander or making fun directed at forum users is prohibited. This includes directly calling members names and embedding them in a question format. One may still strongly criticize the message or point one is making without name-calling toward the person putting forth the point.

Main Entry: dense
Pronunciation: \ˈden(t)s\
Function: adjective
Inflected Form(s): dens·er; dens·est
Etymology: Latin densus; akin to Greek dasys thick with hair or leaves
Date: 15th century
1 a: marked by compactness or crowding together of parts <dense vegetation> <dense traffic> b: having a high mass per unit volume <carbon dioxide is a dense gas>
2 a: slow to understand : stupid, thickheaded <was too dense to get the joke> b: extreme <dense ignorance>
3: having between any two elements at least one element <the set of rational numbers is dense>
4: demanding concentration to follow or comprehend <dense prose>
5: having high or relatively high opacity <a dense fog> <a dense photographic negative>

I believe number 5 explains enough, forget the insulting part but one word has many uses as seen above. tho that person had to assume being insulted being his status has used phrases as such before and hides behind rules.

I'm just stating the obvious.

point taken DK but shouldnt he as a MOD spend as much time moderating other threads than his own.. if not then why even have him as a mod.. seems like a waste to me if all he is doing is policing his own threads and handing out infractions in his own threads and keeping his own threads from being derailed..

if you arenot going to force him to mod all threads as it should be...
how about restricting him from being a mod in any other thread..
How about we just let things go the way they are. Why does EVERY thread on this forum have to be strictly on-topic? How about a little creative freedom? I'd rather have 1/10th of the threads strictly moderated than 9/10ths. Most of us are here to goof off, and the thread titles reflect that. For TP, this is serious business. Give him his creative freedom, and if he wants to keep his threads clean, fine with me.

How about people just get off his back?

ah nothing towards you, respectz to the admin ya know. just certain people is what my topic or arguement was about.

sorry about that post, trying to get these things figured out where they are.

No it's not even name calling if you read what I posted. I'm not being dense, i'm staying on topic about how he uses rules or places rules in his favor. Yes rules are meant to be followed but he has used rules to win an arguement when he was on the losing end.

Not only that but when he is confronted about it, he uses a spamming rule in his favor to remove the losing end from his post. I would see that as editing his posts in his favor.

Well, then the thing to do is to just not get in discussions or debates with TP. If you already know it's going to be an unfair fight, don't even bother. Put him on ignore. Put his threads on ignore. This is probably one of the few forums where you can do that to a moderator. Why bother arguing with people when you know that it's going to be purely one-sided?

Welcome to the trenches.

well see thats part of my point, when he loses an arguement he used some spamming rule to turn it into his win. When I jumped as a reader I just caught him using his own rule to win the thread. I'll back up a member when I see enough to earn my help which the other member did. He won a good arguement and when his posts were edited to benefit TP I just backed up an issue of a post be moderated by the original poster that is also a mod. Not good for showing a fair judgement on the site.

I respect people equally until they cross the line of abuse.

Our forefathers believed that these "freedoms" were ours to begin with. We just had to convince England of this. They weren't granted but they were freakin defended from time to time. These freedoms are protected and not granted. America is a mass collection of people, some of them assholes like me. It is not some living being that can grant me anything. Now people like myself and some others may or may not see fit to serve in the defense of the freedoms enjoyed among Americans in America from time to time. It all about peoples prerogative. I do not see the point of having freedoms that people cannot enjoy or even take advantage of from time to time.:thumbup1:

Yeah, sorry bro, you are dead wrong. A terrorist has it's own definition, and someone who questions his government is being a patriot. If we don't question those we elect, soon they will be saying things like the Constitution or Bill of Rights is nothing but a piece of paper.

No, you meant to say something differently- an argument that I wont get in to. I told GTR, and I'll tell you- we do have an "ignore" function here that is quite effective at filtering out that which pisses you off.

I think you would agree with me, that we would (and have) defended the rights of Americans, ALL AMERICANS to have the freedom to say whatever they want to say as long as it is not slanderous.

What a hoot. TP and eelecurb get away with murder, and slam everyone else. I've not said a word about it before, simply laughed, shook my head, and silently agreed with countless others that know exactly what takes place here.

I'd probably spend more time on here if there wasn't a clear bias in the rule enforcement. Attempting to claim that tp "cleans up" his/her/its threads is a real leap.

Thanks DK; you've just spoken volumes about yourself and this forum.

Don't give up on the forums yet gunny. While I will agree with most posters out there in regards to TP, what can you do? But this is dk's toy, and he makes the rules.

Forget about TP's posts, and respond only to those posters out there that you feel comfortable with.

Have to admit however, that there are times when reading a post that I find it hard to come back with one of my "Habu" replies. This is especially true when it comes to people who keep posting that there is nothing to do over here, only talk about sex, or idiots getting themselves into trouble and then whining about it.
