yeah, sorry.
we are coming just for swimming in the ocean and taking sunbath, maybe try diving. Maybe will get driving license by this time, but not sure. so looking just a place with nice beaches, etc. So I think Naha is not the best city to stay? Only thing about accomodation - private room, no dormitory style. We are both 20 y.o. univ. students.
Thanks a lot.

Ekka is in the middle of the city no beach there. You can get a private rooms at many guest houses no problem. Hamby Resort is a very good one and just a short walk from Araha Beach, and good night life in the area also. Also close by great diving at Sunabe Seawall and other areas. If you need more help shoot me a line at doug@reefencounters.org

i'd suggest here.
you'll also be close to Kunigami Village which (in my opinion) will give you a better experience of okinawa, rather than all the city and military things

Check into one of the Kariyushi resorts (there's three of them) Here is the link for the Kariyushi Beach Resort (http://www.kariyushi.co.jp/english/beach/index.htm) or book through a travel agency. Travel agencies will usually book you into several different hotels. You'll spend each night in a different place, which will give you a great tour of the island. Or, some of the airlines still operate resorts, check on that angle.
I'd look into Moon Beach (http://www.agoda.com/asia/japan/okinawa/moonbeach_hotel.html), Rizzan (http://www.agoda.com/asia/japan/okinawa/rizzan_sea_park_tancha_bay_hotel.html), Alivila (http://www.jalhotels.com/domestic/okinawa/alivila/)...Alivila is run by JAL
There is also The Renaissance Hotel (http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-328509-renaissance_okinawa_resort-i) or YYY club on Ie Shima (http://www.ie-resort.com/english/)
I've stayed in all of these...and they are all nice. I prefer the cottages at YYY myself.

Let's try something a little simpler and look at the post just above this one. It said that they are looking for someone with bilingual ability and they give you a place to stay.

Okay, here's the deal: I have been tasked by the General Manager of a resort hotel here in Okinawa to assemble a guest relations/concierge team primarily focused on foreign guests. Note: these can be either full-time or part-time positions; however, part-time positions may not get the full range of benefits described below.
Ideally, 2-3 persons are needed. The requirements are as follows:
1. Billingual English/Japanese at a minimum (extra languages are of course a plus -- as well, I can negotiate a better salary package for you based on linguistic ability)
2. The willingness to work varying shifts (I would say the norm would be 9:00 - 18:00, 10:00 - 19:00, 11:00 - 20:00, or 12:00 - 21:00)
3. A calm demeanor and the ability to perform under mild stress (sure, it's a resort hotel, but imagine being inundated with guests in the lobby arriving in close proximity to each other - it can get hectic)
4. A customer service mindset
5. Legally in Japan (duuuuh)
The bennies:
1. The resort has employee dorms both on the property and in Nago. If you don't want to commute, chances are good that a dorm room would be made available for you at a very reasonable rate.
2. If you already live here, have a family, etc., a transportation allowance will be provided
3. All relevant Japanese social obligations (taxes, health insurance, retirement pension, etc.) provided per the norm
4. An attractive salary (you won't be a millionaire, but for Okinawa it will definitely be a living wage)
A little more background: I have been involved with this resort for the last 10 years in various capacities and came aboard full time this new Japanese fiscal year. You would be working for me. If you are older than me (I just turned 40) and would have a problem taking marching orders from me, don't bother replying. Not to sound arrogant, but that's the way it is.
If you've perused the local newspapers over the last year, you may have seen a writeup and artist's rendition of the new building we're building. A modern, 24-floor, wave-shaped building with escalator down to a beachside promenade. The owners of the new building intend to make our resort a true world-class facility -- in other words, walk the walk and not talk the talk as has been done so often here in Okinawa -- with international conferences and conventions, etc. Once the new building is up, we will have a total of 600-plus guestrooms.
Just to give you a sampling: In the two months since I've been aboard we've had guests from Japan (obviously), South Korea, the U.S., Australia, New Zealand. the U.K., Germany, Italy, Russia, Canada, France, Ukraine, and Hong Kong. We aim to provide quality, professional service that sometimes seems to evade foreign guests here in Okinawa (and the rest of the country).
PM me if this is of interest to you. The process starts here. Once I've vetted potential applicants, the next step is a meeting with the GM.
Peace,
BK out

That last post was copied from bad_karma. I didn't mean to make it look like it was from me. Sorry

This is in the thick of it, Beach Tower hotel, plenty of english speaking people/stores, centrally located for swimming, tanning, diving, eating, nice view, not too pricey etc. More hotels listed on this site also.
