Nice idea for a counter thread.

However, this has made me realize just how important captions showing dates and places are, whether this thread or the other. Pics with blood and/or soldiers are obvious enough, but others could be from just about anytime or anywhere unrelated to the occupations. (and lets face it, what we could fairly call "war" ended pretty quick in Iraq. What we have now is occupation and insurrection, which is a much more mixed bag)

Just countering the bad with the good here. IMO, does it matter if it took place 1-2 years ago in an 7 year war? (or occupation by your definition)
