I can't remember how many acres it was, I think maybe just one but, my wife bought a deed to land on the Moon for $20. Do you think we got ripped off? Hey, if humans start occupying the Moon, we'll already have our piece.

That is until they discover that some endangered moon animal is thriving on your land and you wont be able to build on it. It will then probably be worth less than 20 bucks.:D

That in itself will never stand up in court. I suggest you send a surveyor to properly survey the land, and have picnics on the land regularly and take lots of pics when you do. Then you might have a chance in court.

The big problem is that no country can even legitimately claim the moon as a territory at this time. That means there is no legitimate office to issue property deeds. So the deed itself means next to nothing. But who knows exactly how that colonization will play out?

Even if the deed is determined to have some legitimacy, there is still a chance that you many have to defend your claim by force of arms. That has always been the lowest common demoninator in property claims, and even the most legitimate claims have been settled by violence instead.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about, some Cowboys and Indians - cosmic style. Those should be fun times. Bet they'll make for some excellent movies in like the year 2200 or something. Imagine sitting in your house on the moon watching remakes of actual human on Moon creature battles.

That made me think of this:

Who would win in a knife fight between Webster 1913 and Vulgar Tongue 1811 on the moon?

http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1719138

And now I am imagining all sorts of knife fights that could happen on the moon over land on the moon. The blood sport of the future? Make your moon land title stick...with a knife!

Go stake your claim, man. Its like with any new movement....if you find someone on your claimed land, you can just shoot them...

OR you could cut their safety line and push them out into the vastness of space.... Just another one of the perks of living on the moon....

who.. everyone hold your horses..

first we have to get to the moon...

i for one dont believe we ever made it to the moon...

if we did land on the moon in 1969 we would have been back..

just more disinformation and mass brainwashing by our govt

Oh good Lord..... WHY??!?!?

Why do you have to torment us???

I suppose the international space station that is being built is also another ploy by the collective governments involved to pull the wool over our human eyes that there is actually nothing in space at all, and that the world is actually flat too.

can anyone adequately explain to me why if we landed on the moon in 1969 we have not been back since...??
Maybe nothing worth while there going back for?

Umm then how do you explain the other men that have walked on the moon?

We went back in what 71' and 72' if memory serves me right. I guess they were hoaxes too right? Sorry dont agree with you here, I grew up with this stuff it isnt just a part of history books to me.

Ok quick websearch time..Apollo Missions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_program)

Six times,

Twice in 1969 (Apollos 11 & 12).
Twice in 1971 (Apollos 14 & 15).
Twice in 1972 (Apollos 16 & 17).

In each case, a 3-man crew was sent to the Moon, two of whom landed, whilst the third remained on the mother ship in orbit around the Moon.

The twelve who landed on the Moon were: (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_times_have_men_been_on_the_moon)

Apollo 11 [July 20, 1969]:
[1] Neil Armstrong
[2] Buzz Aldrin

Apollo 12 [November 19-20, 1969]:
[3] Pete Conrad
[4] Alan Bean

Apollo 14 [February 5-6, 1971]:
[5] Alan Shepard
[6] Edgar Mitchell

Apollo 15 [July 31-August 2, 1971]:
[7] David Scott
[8] James Irwin

Apollo 16 [April 21-23, 1972]:
[9] John W. Young
[10] Charles Duke

Apollo 17 [December 11-14, 1972]:
[11] Eugene Cernan
[12] Harrison Schmitt

easy... i dont believe we sent manned missions and landed on the moon....

i am not trying to convince anyone else...

this is just my belief

You do know that we are going back to the moon right Big? Since having a non-earth launch pad is the only way we are going to be able to explore our own solar system, NASA is planning to invade the moon.

When I was a kid, a family friend who was a geologist got to examine some of the moon rocks.

Ok, can you share with us what information other than the reference you made to the 69' mission that would prove otherwise?

You did ask about other missions and I showed you some well "proof" if you choose to accept that, that men did actually go back to the moon after 69'.

i look forward to the day when i can believe we went to the room

What "proof" will you accept? Or will you have to actually go there yourself and touch it before you believe it? And that is a serious question.

i would love to go to the moon.. but from what i can see all the "proof" we so called have of the moon landings have to many inconsistencies for me to believe it..

i was not even born during that time frame so i do not have the passionate recollection of everything that some older folks do..

simply stated I dont believe we landed and walked on the moon
I dont know of any other way to say this but your replies here remind me of my history lessons from grade school when people told Columbus that he was going to fall off the face of the earth because it was flat.

That is my belief, and I by no means dispute your right to believe what you want to believe either. I just never expected that someone would still actually hold the belief that man never walked on the moon.

Well live and learn I guess.

I think we should hurry up and start Terraforming the Moon. Then peeps could live up there, that dont like it here on Earth.

The terraforming (literally, "Earth-shaping") of a planet, moon, or other body is the hypothetical process of deliberately modifying its atmosphere, temperature, surface topography or ecology to be similar to those of Earth in order to make it habitable by humans.

Anybody else see the mini series "From Earth to the Moon"? It was broadcast on HBO but they released the dvds a few years ago. I thought it was an excellent look back at all the missions from the Mercury through Apollo.

Per my Nigerian investor friend, Dr. Ulu Jumanji he states that this is an excellent deal. In fact he also stated that with his help he can help triple your initial investment by mediating future transactions between yourself and the Nigerian Moon Investment Corp that is currently looking for a larger stake in both northern and southern moon hemispheres. All he requests is that you send him a self-enclosed stamp envelope with $100 to begin the initial mediating process and he will get back with you all the legal documents that is needed.

Trust me, I currently have amassed a small fortune at the Nigerian National Bank with the good Dr.s help. He once gave me a "tip" about a wealthy oil tycoon that had perished in an automobile accident and didnt have any heirs to bequeath his belongings. Man, I cant wait to retire and live it up with my well earned fortune.

Either way...goodluck!
