Here's a what if for ya:

You go to the doctor. The doctor comes in to say that you are going to have a baby, but there is a problem. Your child is going to be deformed mentally and physically. After you handle the shock of the news, he tells you that they know have 100%, no draw back process to alter the child's DNA to make him normal.

Would you do it?

I can honestly say I would. Sure it might be un-natural to do that but it will make that kid's life 100% easier on him. He can enjoy things like a normal child can. Not to mention it would be easier on the parents too.

I would too. I have a family member that is mentally handicapped. It breaks my heart every time he comes over to the house. I know for a fact that I would!

Here's the twist:

Different child... you go to the doctor's and he comes out "congrats, your going to have a healthy baby boy." After the huggs and kisses... the doctor says "But we now have the technology to make him more advanced. Through DNA changes, we can make your son faster, smarter, stronger, etc"

Would you do it then?

hmm that would be different. I really wouldn't know what to do. Sure that would make their life easier but where is the reward in life if you know the reason your good at everything is because of DNA tampering? If it was done to every single human on the planet, then I wouldn't see a problem.

Yes on the 1st, but no on the 2nd. There are no guarantees that there wouldn't be side effects on the 2nd. I really counldn't care less about the moral implications to it. People use drugs everyday to "enhance" their abilities...whether it be steroids or viagra!

Implement the all natural neurodevelopmental exercises that do the same thing without negitive consequences & possible long term effects that such a medical procedure could have.

I would have to go with the 1st and the 2nd. Yes, there are things out there now that "enhance" our bodies. The only thing is that most of them have side affects as well.

But the way that I look at it is that they are the same question within a different time line. The 1st is all about the now, the 2nd is all about the future. Everyone knows that there are going to be more people like myself that would want to offer their child a better future without the pain that they went through. The thing is that when there are more people taking part in the 2nd question... your child will be right back in the 1st question... below the now normal super kids, both mentally and physically. the super kids will be the new normal
