so, hopefully this isn't too much info for the guys, or anyone, really, but GRRRRR.
My period's a week late. I'm achy. I have a slight fever (100F). My shorts are too tight.
however, I'm not pregnant. I would really like to know what is going on. My doctor just scratched her head and asked another doctor. He didn't really say anything.
Negative pregnancy test. I would love to have another baby, that's for sure.
sigh. The female body is just... frustrating.

I'd say water retention due to humidity and/or excessive salt intake.

Your menstruation cannot start until your body stops producing the high levels of estrogen and progesterone.
So if something (stress, changes in sleep or activity patterns, extreme exercise, etc) is going on and your hormones are outta whack your period will not start.
Something else to check.....do you by chance have any females you hang out with on a regular basis? Your body could be adjusting itself to cycle in a closer pattern with them. I know it is weird but for some reason females in the same household or close knit friends will cycle on the same schedule.
BTW, some women do not get a positive preg test until 10 days or more after the missed period, as the body does not start producing HCG until the egg has attached to the uterine wall and then HCG levels have to be high enough to be detected by test.
It is possible that you COULD be pregnant & the egg hasn't implanted yet. Though more likely one of the first two.
GOOD luck! No stressing (HA!) over it, enjoy the few extra days of freedom. :)
