I lost it on a trail by the Royal Garden Hotel. I got myself onto a trail to advanced for my riding abilities and I had to leave the bike on the trail. I went back to get the bike Saturday and it was gone. Someone may have thought it was abandoned as it has been there for more than 3 weeks, so I am not accusing anyone of being a thief. I would just like my bike back. I'll pay a reward to get my bike back.

Have you been to the Police and checked to see if the bike was returned there?

Sorry to hear that man. That's in my neck of the woods too...but why did you leave it there so long?

...and why didn't you just turn around and go back the way you came?

Yes this has been reported the the USMC PMO and the Ishikawa Police Station.

Of course you know the engine serial # right? I'll keep an eye out for anything like it. If someone took it, I doubt the tag is still on it.

The trail is about 1 foot wide. There was no where to turn around and riding back the way I came even if I could turn around it was a treacherous 5+ km ride the way I came VS a 1 km ride the other way.

This coming from a guy who left his bike in the woods for MORE THAN 3 WEEKS!!! :8:

I'm sure the Japanese Police had a big laugh when you left the building.

I'm sure your mom had a big laugh when she finally shat you out of her womb after 9 months of tedious hell.

Sorry I forgot, what is more important than my son being born? Oh that's right getting my bike out of the woods. On top of that I already stated that I couldn't remove it by myself so I had to coordinate my busy schedule with my friend's schedules. That took some time.

I had 2 bikes stolen when I lived in chatan from my apt. 1st one I found it was stripped, they took everything, I fixed it up and sold it , the second one was locked they cut the lock, I call the cops they said sorry nothing they could do, a few days later Im riding around fvckin off and I found it at the apt of the thief, I called the cops and asked the neighbors who rode M/C in the building they told me. The cops arrived and looked at the bike laughed and told me I was lucky to find it. I gave them the apt number and asked them what are they gonna do about? They got pissed and told me to take my bike home and they left, I had to push it home in the rain, all the locks were jacked so I couldn't start it. I left it down stairs and waited. I caught the bastards trying to steal it again. I beat the shit out of them and called cops, the cops told me not to do that again or I would go to jail and let the punks go, but after that I never had a bike come up missing. Now cops are useless here unless you're Japanese.....what you did wasn't the smartest thing but you've learned. Just get another bike and don't make the same mistake twice.

You have to admit, leaving it for three weeks and not expecting it to turn up missing is rather naive to say the least. That or you actually have some faith in other people's integrity, something I know I don't have.

Probably some kids saw it one day, then went back a few days later, saw it still there, maybe came a third time, and by then assumed you had just left it as an offering to the rust gods. Yeah、I'd agree, kinda naive.

Lost: One bike on the trail.
Found: One tool who left said bike there three weeks.

Have you no frinds that you could have called? Mine would have helped me out. Or were you too embarrased?

I was just joking before. Three weeks ago, if you would have posted something like: Bike stuck on trail, can someone help me get it?
I would have been one of the first to respond and helped drag the bike out if need be.

Again if you guys knew the area the bike was lost in there are only two way to get it out. Ride it or by a helicopter. I will assume that it was ridden out unless someone knows of a secret group of industrious Viet Cong or a Sasquatch family in Okinawa. The ignition was locked and the forks were locked, so not just any 'kid' is going to know how to hot wire the bike and break the fork lock. This area is deap in the jungle where it is hard enough to walk without trying to carry a several hundred pound bike out of the woods. You can say I am naive, but if any of you read my first post you would see that I understand why the bike is gone and I am just hoping to get it back. That also is a bit naive, but I am expecting to never see it again.

Two issues with that. I know people who if they knew where the bike was would have been more than obliged to go steal it. Two this was a Sunday. I had work the next day. When I am done with work it is dark. I can't get this thing out after dark. My friends work the same hours as I and sometimes longer, so we had to wait until a weekend. The Wednesday 3 days later my son was born. I had been busy with that up until this last Saturday. Even then I was only able to find two people to help me... I wasn't embarrassed at all. I was quite proud of making it to where I did.

Kids with the knowledge to steal a bike aren't many kids I know that go hiking and mountain biking on this trail.

Oh well, shit happens. I do hope that it pops up somewhere. Maybe some constant driving around that particular area will help some as well (not inside the jungle of course).

Well, Congratulations on the birth of your son. I would not have posted the location where it was either, i would have just asked if anyone could help, please private message. That way the location is not posted. I have a big metal sled that we use to drag B-B-Q stuff to the beach and the woods. Has a nice long tow rope. All that is needed is a few strong backs. And a few beers.

the_wrath_of_Khan
04-22-2008, 03:26 PM
Is the sled wider than 1 foot? I am serious that the trail is between 1" and 2" wide with a few 3" clearings in this whole area. I really doubt that anyone less than the Jewish slaves that built the pyramids or the VC who made an interconnected series of tunnels while carrying howitzers on their backs could have moved this thing. The problem with posting publically about where it was is that everyone in the 'know' know this trail so as soon as I said I lost my bike they would know exactly where.

The sled is about 2.5 foot maybe a little wider. Well, I really am sorry you lost your bike. And I hope you find it, or someone sells you another one at a good price. I would have gone and gotten muddy to help if someone needed help though.

Everything and anything that isn't permanently attached to something can, and probably will, be stolen or attempted to be stolen. Hell, that's a fact of life I learned long ago. Of course I'm sure you know this already.

This is a forum. Of course people will joke and read too much into it.

Ask some of the people in the area like Muku suggested, or put up some flyers in both english and Japanese and post them in the area.

I have been in some pretty wild and hard to get places in the mountains of Japan, and frankly, if you have not been there it is going to be hard to appreciate just how wild and hard to get they are. I can imagine taking the option of leaving the bike and walking out safe. I was tempted to do it in Thailand, as I was halfway down a dangerous slope that was a mess of washed out burms with loose sand on top. No fun at all. Got the front tire stuck in a burm and did a header. But I had to get the bike back to the rental shop, so got up and pushed on. I am no Evil Kennevil, so yeah, I was thinking about ditching the bike.

And the 3 weeks? Well, I can see reasons for that too. But the fact that I dont see the reason posted makes me think its probably not a good one. Oh well, if TWOK is not cursing the world , Japan and God for his loss, I see no reason to get insulting.

Sorry about the bike dude. Good luck.

Thanks for probably the best post in the whole thread. My wife gave birth and I had a newborn at home and a 1.5 year-old to take care of all the time. That is what the reason is along with other more common stuff like work, TAD, etc...

I brought this up on a different forum but.... that bike is NOT a watercooled 2 stroke CR250 nor is it an aircooled 2-stroke CR250. CR250's are non-streetlegal MX bikes and the CRM250 is enduro version with dual purpose tires and street related garb. That is an air cooled, 4 stroke XL250 or XLR250.

Kinda difficult to locate something that isn't listed correctly.

Thanks, Rutt. I posted this before I knew it wasn't a CR250. It was sold to me as such and no one, including people who knew better told me it wasn't. How was I supposed to know. It is a XR whatever something or other Honda POS 250cc 4 stroke turd that is gone forever. Thanks again...
