Okay, we've run into a major problem with getting our cat to Okinawa with us. Originally, both of our cats were on the AMC flight with us... now only one can go and we are having to ship the other unaccompanied on a commercial flight as cargo. Narita International Airport already has our advance notification and we would have all we needed once we obtained our other paperwork from our final vet appointment. The problem we have is that the Quarantine Office at Narita airport is telling us that because our cat will arrive by herself at the port of entry in Tokyo, that someone will need to process her through customs there and not at Naha Airport in Okinawa. We had thought that all of the customs processsing would be done with us after the cat had arrived in Okinawa for us to claim.
If anyone has shipped a pet commercially to Okinawa, HOW did you do this? We're running out of time and it looks like we may have to leave her behind if no arrangements can be made. :crying:
