Hard Reef anyone?

Anyone want to go to hard reef this weekend? Maybe on saturday night? I don't have any plans right now, and would like to go out and have a few drinks. Anyone is welcome, I'll decide the details if I can get enough people to go. I just hope the wife will let me go:D

That's ok DocP. I made sure I got my nap in before I went and still ended up back home at about 12'ish and asleep by 1. It was nice meeting new people and I always enjoy seeing people outside of the computer screen!

Anyhow, my friend and I went to Hard Reef last night after the dinner at Kebabs, since karaoke fell through. Parking is horrible there by the by. I saw Sex Wax outside as I was parking, but the aliens abducted him before we got out of the car. We were about to leave, but Trail showed up. Yay! :w00t: We sat down and chatted while waiting to see who else wouold show up. Surprisingly, proudtobnotpc showed up withe his missus. A bit after ten, Pchan and his missus showed up with her friend "fashionably late" as always. heh. We all got to know each other a bit starting with the obligatory small talk and then jumped right into thread worthy topics. LOL. I blame Pchan who mostly ate the whole time he was there. :p heehee.

I left early and went home, because I'm old. :rolleyes: I had a nice time and would do it again. The amount of cigarette smoke started to bother me as the place filled though. I also forgot how annoying it is to talk over music that gets louder as the bar fills. eh. I didn't think that I'd get so old so young. :o

No, if you have a Y plate you will be towed. Sometimes you can park around the corner towards the wall, but then you will have all of your tires slashed.

Thats 22 posts a day do you have that much important stuff to say and if you put some thought into each post do you have time to do anything else? And as far as the point of this thread Hard reef 6 or 8 years ago was very cool. Alot of locals and a shit ton of ladies. Now what you got is a shit ton of goons and a few ladies. Wouldnt go in there before midnight now a days unless you want to put up with all the idiots. Sorry i must be politically correct Gunjins.

Your right nobody else should care what i think about the Hard Reef. I think if you ask around to some people who have been going to the Reef for years you may get the same opinion from a few. It's all good wkarma no harm no foul. P_chan loves Okinawa and he probably knows a ton about this Island for only being here in the short amount of time that he has. I have had some rather heated discussions with him in the past, but he does post a lot of useful info to this forum and I thank him for that. If I was a betting man he will be back in Okinawa before you know it and probably will be for the long haul next time. Anyway, you seem to be really angry in most of posts here! I'll drink alcohol nearly anywhere. Hard Reef is a means to an end (drunkenness). I haven't really found any bars I like in my area, so I just take what's available.

I'd like to find a nice, quiet bar with plush chairs and fancy coasters. Like that bar in The Shining.

Plenty of those places available, but.....

It's the small places within the community, where you can find "true" friends.

Lot of traffic, good food. Lot of trucks, free booze, etc...

But these places require you to treat your friends as equals, not like you are better than them.

A lot of new people on the island have a hard time adjusting to that line of thinking.

I'm not attacking dk, by any means. Just common sense. When you go to a new place, enjoy the food, enjoy the drinks, and when people complain, it will normally be the locals.

The reason that they complain, is due to the fact that you get a bigger portion of the foods that you like, as compared to the people complaining.

I've traveled all over the world, and I have many places that I enjoy eating at. And I keep going back to those places, for the food, the atmosphere, etc.

One of those places is the Royal Restaurant, just across the street from Torii Station. Best "Beef Yakisoba", on this island.

I always get more than the other customers, because they know that I love it. Lots of other good food there as well.

As for dk, the closest place that you could find to suit your need, would be Doug_P's place. Wish that our place was as nice, but from what I've seen, not likely.
