Is it just me or is Japanese TV just bad? I mean how many times can you show the OPAPI Guy in speedos flailing about, and now its the middle aged female comedian with the My Sharona bit. I mean it might be funny the first 100 times but get some real talent.
I have also noticed there are only about 100 different people on Japanese TV and they are all on every show. Beyond Sin Chan and Anpan Man it just sucks arse.

God I freaking hate kojima yoshiro! At first I thought he was kinda funny, but now he's getting old fast.

Hey they had a show on today that was about a cross dressing (males dressed up like females) fashion show.:-|

Why is it that you never see shows with women dressing as men?

There was an awesome show on last night. It showed how they recycle the garbage that washes up on Irimote island. They recycle pet bottle caps and rings and make diesel fuel.

Yeah everyonce in a while they score one, but I am also tired of the little skinny girl about 21 years old that can eat 5kg of food at a sitting, EVERYONE IN JAPAN knows it now so why is it so freaking interesting that we have to watch her eat at least one meal a day on TV:cursing:

History Channel FTW!

My wife was watching this show with one of the smap guys in it last night. He was a robot, who falls in love with this girl or something like that. But some other guy likes this girl, so the robot (smap guy) and the other guy are fighting over her. :barf:

Oh I know that chick, she should save her yennies because in about a year she will be yesterdays news.

Very true, too much lameness and very little originality.

I saw that show, too...kinda cool idea, but they should've played it up with a little more action, like a Japanese "Six-Million Dollar Man"...

We don't get Japanese TV, because we're on the AFN satellite. However, we do watch some of the Japanese game and variety shows online. We especially like Gaki No Tsukai (Downtown).

I think there are 13 or 15 parts... It's effing hilarious to us.

SMAP GUY- these no talent scrubs are on every channel and annoying as hell

Now the fat guy who wears overalls and eats all over Japan is funny and entertaining- because he shows you where good food is and he always has a hot a$$ woman with him.

History channel, National Geographic and Animal Planet is for the win!!

P the robot guy wasnt from SMAP, but he sure the hell looks like a wannabe:rolleyes:. Night Tenjo the "robot" is played by Mokomichi Hayami (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Hayami_Mokomichi)

He was "programmed" to love her.

The "other" guy was set on the girl by the "other" guy's so called girlfriend, who happens to sit at the desk at work next to the girl who has the robot. The "other" guy was just looking to get some...<3<3...with the girfriends blessings, just to get the robot girl to chill out and have some fun instead of always being so straight laced. :barf: Does any of that actually make any sense at all?

Guy fvck's up, robot punches his lights out, guy loses gf too,......

Typical storyline, now I am sorry I watched it:crying::thumbdown:

Here is a copy of the story line in English from Fuji TV.

Absolute Boyfriend (http://www.fujitv.co.jp/en/programinfo/index.html#)

Robot maker, Kronos Heaven, finally develops "Night Tenjo", the perfect male humanoid programmed to be devoted and completely loyal to his lover. The company chooses temp worker Riiko Izawa to take part in a 5-day free trial. At first, Riiko only sees Night as a household appliance. But when she finds out how deep Night's devotion to herself is, Riiko finds herself falling in love with him.

Joining the "love triangle" is Soshi Asamoto, an executive of Riiko's company. Other characters surrounding Riiko are Gaku Namikiri, the sales representative of Kronos Heaven, and Fujiko Wakabayashi, a cafe owner who gives romance-related advices to Riiko.

Night Tenjo Mokomichi Hayami
Riiko Izawa Saki Aibu
Soshi Asamoto Hiro Mizushima
Masashi Asamoto Shunsuke Nakamura
Gaku Namikiri Kuranosuke Sasaki
Fujiko Wakabayashi Miki Maya

I of course was speechless.

I think Japanese TV is awesome, sometimes. I like it mostly cause I'm learning the language and like to try and pick up the words......

I also think they have allot of interesting programming, especially about food and/or travel. I like Bistro Smap, Ishizuka (sp), and others.....

Bistro smap:barf:

I do like "The Best House" and those two comedians who go out and live in the wilderness. They had a new year's special where they went to an island and set up a resturant and caught all the fish they cooked. They invited a bunch of people (some really famous one's like Johnny Depp) but people like him didn't show up. That really annoying girl who eats alot showed up and ate all their nasty ass fish stew and the one guy had to go back out at 3am to catch more fish :w00t:

I saw that one too, hilarious!

I also like the one they used to have where a few famous people (Bobby san, and the funny little skinny comedian who's a good spear fisher, and others) have like ichi man en or something to live for 1 month I think.

Also Pan kun rules! He's the monkey with the pet bulldog....

Ken Shimura as Bakadona is probably the best comedy....

Not TV related but any fans of the movie Zatoichi The Blind Swordsman? The actor is "Beato" Takeshi

The theme music should be, "Freak-a Zoid" by Midnight Star, "Computer Love" by Roget Troutman and ZAPP, or "I Was Made To Love Her", by Stevie Wonder....what do you think?

I agree most of it is crap with the same old recycled folks on different versions of talk shows simply trying to be funny in some way.

But I do like Dash, and K1, and occasionally Best House (love the voice of the girl who say's 1-2-3). I really loved London Hearts when they used to do the Black Mail/Idol Trap stuff. I wish they'd do that again.

I have to have a chat with the wife cause she's gotten into the habit of watching J-TV in bed at bedtime and it's become worse than snoring when I'm trying to sleep.

I can't stand that guy Tomori, the guy with the dark glasses on at noon everyday. He is just sooo unfunny.

I miss the boobies too, I saw this one show a long time ago and I couldn't believe it was on regular broadcast tv.

I used to watch K1 religiously I've meet 3 of the big fighters personally and was ring side for a couple of matches. But it seems they have gotten so fake that they are just like Pro Wrestling. I like Pride and Pancreas sp? now and I turn off K1 when it comes on because I get so pissed at the bias Judges:cursing:

Boobs on tv automatically make it a good tv show:thumbup:. I'd like to see the chesticles of some of the actresses I see on tv. Like Aya Ueto or that one game show I saw a while ago that had a bunch of news anchor ladies competing in goofy ass games. Yeah, that show was hot.

Me, I hate that stupid ass old BS fortune teller lady (the one everyone else hates) and that dude who dresses up like a woman with yellow hair. Oh, and the snaggle tooth lady who hosts Anori kinda annoys me.

I want to star in my own TV show in Japan! I was recently on a 70's kick (Which means I watched SHAFT for the 137th time), when I started fantasizing about the idea of a kinda 70's American style private-eye tv show here in Japan! Just wish I had a cool name...

I'd don't have a vast experience of watching JPtv, but from what I see from the internet it's on par with about the quantity of american shows I like.

*Densha Otoko (Train Man) was a pretty entertaining dorama.
*Clips of Morning Musume practicing english was pretty hilarious, (especially when they played the game of meat on their heads with the lizards.)
*Anime for the win usually...
*All of those clips of girls doing crazy, sexy things we would never see even on US cable.

JPtv aint great, but there are a few gems to be found...
