Can someone out there, please tell me if you had any trouble bringing your pet to Okinawa, and was it a hardship in any way, as in getting base housing, how long you waitied for it, ect.

No trouble getting our dog here...just make sure you have all the paperwork needed for the importation, and things should go smoothly...We only had to wait 4 days for a house. No problems on that end either. It can get a bit pricey though...depends on if you are flying Patriot Express or commercial.

You may want to consider living off base if you have a dog or if you end up on base start the process asap for getting a fence.

Depends on the size of your dog. Ours was 55lbs. Last time we left here which was in 95, to get him back to the USA commercial, it was about $700. The reason being, Each time you change an airline, you must pay for your pet again for that air line. The best thing to do, is to call each airline you will be going on, and get the rates....that way it won't be so shocking.
