I've thought since the news of the alleged rape broke this was a case of enjo kosai gone awry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enjo_k%C5%8Dsai

So, enjo kōsai is similar to an escort service? or Sugar Daddy? Are you saying this is a possible basis for the incident that happened? I see the implications possible, but not sure where you're going with it. Could you elaborate any?

Its really simple and I find it strange that men (not all men) can't figure this out. Regardless of who you are with, and what their job is, if she says no and you continue than its RAPE. In other words if she says no you stop.

From the outset, I've never thought the release information supported the rape allegation. He picked her up in a public place in front friends, took her to his house, dropped her off in a public place. That never sounded like the actions of a rapist to me. Everybody was quick to jump on him as a pedophile and no one has seen this young woman or how she was dressed. If the JP had a shred of evidence that supported the rape allegation they would still have him because of the political implications.

AF, I see what you are pointing out but the bigger burning question I want answered are the results of the DNA test.

So, AF, you're kinda going with the idea that the girl, familiar with enjo kōsai, went with the older gaijin man to get expensive gifts and/or money? The only thing I'd find wrong with that is, why would a gaijin know about such things?

Socal, it's not hard to figure out. Especially for us who have considerable time here, have/had local wives or girlfriends or work with local national male employees on base.
I work wirt or around 40+ locals in my squadron, over 50% of those guys talk frequently about soapland or other good places to go...

"My pussy is worth $600. Now that's pretty flattering."
This should win the quote of the week. 'eh...American girls got this too. In a high school of my friend, there was a girl pimp recuriting girls to work for her bosses sex job. It made the news awhile back.

Well, Ammo, I didn't want to post any conclusions that could be considered "jumped to" or off topic. I wanted to clarify what idea AF wanted to convey before saying something like; so, that wannabe ghetto fabulous girl was just another Okinawan school girl whore out to get some free stuff from another dumbbutt American desperate enough to fall for her bullpoodoo like he was worth anyone's time. I didn't want to come out and actually say something so pointed or along those lines without being sure of what AF meant to convey.

Bottom line was I thought there were a lot of random conclusion jumped to during this whole mess without touching the obvious one that occured to me when this news broke. If there was DNA evidence he would still be in Japanese custody, with DNA you don't need a cooperative witness.

I was reading an article about how much they get. 50,000/60,000 yen per night. That is alot of money and once those figures came out. He probably didn't or couldn't pay.
Would say more but I think the picture has been painted pretty well with the previous post.

I have heard the enjo kousai thing mentioned with this case several times. However, I have read NOT ONE credible report to link the young woman to enjo kousai, NOT ONE. And wiki links to enjo kousai aint cutting it.
Its like a Rush Limbaugh smear campaign. :barf:
Until somebody can cough up just one, JUST ONE credible report, I have to dismiss the idea entirely. As if it matters anyway.

You don't have any credible evidence that a rape occured either.

Very true. You can't deny the fact that no one will ever really know what happened. Rape could have occured, but it could have easily not occured too.

No, but I have credible evidence that rape charges were filed. That is SOMETHING at least.
And FYI, I never truly believed a rape occurred, but since we know charges were filed, I was not too hard on those that thought it had.
But enjou kousai? NOTHING.
