Without a doubt the only food not fit for human consumption....only chimps and other "alike" animals.

I used to like them until I got into HS, then I worked at a Custard Stand as a part time job and during the summer time had to peel and slice something like 150 to 200lbs of bananas a day. :barf: My hands turned brown from the juice in the bananas and to this day CAN NOT stand them, they make me :barf::barf::barf:

P I used to hate natto as well until one day I realized that both natto and cheese are fermented or aged foods. Yeah I was drunk....and the first time I had natto was "natto maki sushi" with plenty of wasabi.
After I tried that I was hooked and now love the stuff.

I like pickled beets, a lot! Just plain boiled beets, :barf:.

Most mushrooms I can't stand the texture especially shitake.
Pig intestines, nakasumi(I think that's right) soup makes me sick. My mother-in-law made that for New Years one time. The smell from boiling them actually made me sick for 3 days.

I guess you have never had limburger cheese (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limburger_cheese)?
The bacterium used to ferment Limburger cheese and other rind-washed cheeses is Brevibacterium linens; this same bacterium is found on human skin and is partially responsible for human body odor.[1]

Well you boil them, then fry the leftovers. The term "living high on the hog" comes from the fact the the "massa" took the chops and steaks or high parts of the animal and left the feet, ears, tails, entrails and other odd bits for the slaves and foremen. Growing up in Colorado I just thought Soul Food was just what black folks ate, imagine my surprise when I went to the south and realized that Soul Food is just poor folk food and every body eats Soul Food down there.

If we had a good Cajun/Creole place on island they would probably be able to do them right. There is a good place in Pattaya.

Raw liver is pretty good especially when dipped into a sauce of soy and a bit of sesame oil, and with a pinch of sea salt.
Or with a soy sauce and green garlic paste sauce. Yummy!
Great for people that are iron deficient, clears it up in a couple of slices, but the taste is very rich and I find it hard to eat more than three or four slices.

Anybody ever eaten "stinky tofu"? I was watching "Strange Eats" with Alex Zimmern, and it was one of the fre things that he couldnt eat. he's eatch fugu, deer and other various types of penis, he's even eaten some kind of worms right out the tree, but not this "stinky tofu"
I like regular tofu a little...like in miso soup
Mebbe I am biased because I love regular tofu, and the stinky tofu (”とh付与) I buy is made by a couple of beautiful Okinawan sisters.... but that stuff is meant to be eaten in tiny bites washed down with awamori. It tastes very much like blue cheese.

trust me...it was much bigger than tiny bites. he ate in on a sandwich, or should I say attempted to eat it. it was probably a 2.5-3 inch square...

To add to the list.. I don't like Liver, not a huge fan to tomatoes, crutons, ice cream (but i will eat in on occasion), chips, chitlins, chicken cacciatore, hamburgers, and nachos, jalapeños.

Chitterlings, aka nakasumi, Rocky Mountain Oysters, Just regular Oysters, Pig's feet aka tebichi, goya, Hog fries (Pig's Oysters), coconut, natto.

Stinky tofu is actually tofu that has been aged in awamori and miso and is considered a delicacy. It has the texture of wine cheese and to me a similar flavor as well. Stuff is not cheap either, goes great with karasu, a small salted fish. The salt flavoring with awamori and tofu....Mmmmmm:thumbup::first:

Yeah I tried the little red stinky tofu once. Can't remember the name. They serve it with a toothpick as it's meant to be eaten very little bit at a time. I ate most of it and washed it down with Awamori. I only had it that once and thought it was too strong tasting. Sounds like it might be good with the salty fish mentioned above by Muku and a glass of Tatsu or Chatan Choro (or your fav Awamori).

Damn, I must be a human garbage disposal 'cuz all I hate (that I can recall) is liver. I'm probably don't come in contact with enough weird stuff to hate. Oh, and the first time I tried raw fish, my throat muscles refused to swallow it.....that was weird. I think it was the texture of it.
I'm sure that some of the more strange things that ya'll have mentioned would gross me out.

I haven't tried it but I'd say the only thing I can't or just wouldn't eat is feces. I guess seal feces mixed with blubber is a delicacy for Eskimoes. Other than feces I love ALL food if prepared right. Well, I don't love Natto but I can eat it.

KK, same thing happened to me and still does on occasion. I am a sushi light weight due to the texture factor. I'll eat myself sick on rolls but some sashimi and sushi refuses to go down without a fight. I ate piece of tuna that had to be a 1"x2" piece of o-toro sashimi and I about lost it trying to eat it. Too much meat to be chewing on without rice IMO. It was a very generous piece of meat though. It was rough going trying to be polite and gag it down.
For the most part I am not a picky eater but I think everyone has things they can't "stomach" so to say. I retry things I dislike all the time to see if anything changed but for the most part, the same foods I disliked 5 years ago are still disliked to this day.

I have a big list of things I refuse to eat....
-Eggs(no matter how they are cooked...I hate them...this includes french toast, and fried rice....)
-Mushrooms
-Natto(it tastes like death)
-Brussel Sprouts
-Anything with Soy Sauce, Terriyake(sp) Sauce, Yakitori Sauce....basically, any salty brown sauce......Yuck.
-Animal fat.....I hate when I see a huge chunk of fat in my Coco's Curry or something....its disgusting. I've noticed that in America, most resturants focus on lean chicken breast or all white meat or something, and here in Japan, you dont even know what part of the chicken it is....Example: Hokka Hokka Tei's Chicken Balls....EW
Anything else, I will totally tear apart....

-Natto(it tastes like death)
LMAO, the line "natto taste like death" is funny. :w00t:
Liver - any edible internal organ really makes me want to vomit, heart, kidneys etc..
Oysters - I don't care what anyone says they look like a big loogie and smell revolting.
Example: Hokka Hokka Tei's Chicken Balls....EW
The chicken karaage at HokkaBen is made with chicken thigh meat. Never heard of a chicken with balls before, must be the size of peanuts.

I only eat plain hamburgers and french fries, everything else is just so weird.

I know what you are saying it's just that when I first read this my thought was then you must be a vegetarian because I have never in my life seen any external meat besides what hangs between my legs, and that is not for sale.
However it is for rent\:-)

Everything is good except hominy (does not include hominy grits). I will eat anything you put in front of me though I do get picky about how it is prepared, like rice that is undercooked (bad texture) or steak that isn't bleeding (usually too tough).

So, you'll eat feces, huh.
So, you'll eat feces, huh.
When I read this it reminded me of a story my Dad told me from an experience he had during WWII in Persia.
He related how the kids in town used to run after the cows that were shitting as they walked down the street, their goal was to pick out the undigested bits of corn that were intermixed with the feces and then wash them, let them dry out, mill them to make flour and then bread.
That is how they survived, and when they were particularly lucky they made extra bread that they could sell for money.

I'm game for chicken or turkey liver but that's it. I hate beef or pork liver. I've actually been craving liver pate or deep fried chicken livers. There's no sense in me making either one since I would be the only one eating it.
I have yet to understand why the Japanese like to grill the keel bone (chicken breast cartilage) yakitori style here.

Won't go anywhere near natto... Not even going to give it a chance.
