Over the years Japan, S. Korea, and the U.S. have been continuously supplying rice to North Korea to prevent a humanitarian disaster. At times those shipments have been halted, but by and large they have continued. All this continued in the past (and may so in the future) even as N.Korea was violating the nuclear weapons treaties, acting beligerant, and thumbing its nose at world opinion.
Do you think these countries have been correct in continuing the shipment of food, particularly rice and grain, to N. Korea -- eventhough a percentage (how much is not certain) is diverted to the military and not the general population?
Despite having their noses thumbed at us and them not accepting our requests and demands for them to honor their treaties and stop being beligerant, have we benefited in any way by continuing rice and grain shipments to N. Korea?
